Never say Never! LOL.....I got the flu

Well it's been many years and I have been bragging about how I never get the flu....until Tuesday when I got home from work it really hit me....and was sick for most of the night. Do you get a flu shot? Have you had the flu this year? Have you bragged about something just to have it come back on you? LOL

Well I hope that you get to feeling better. I haven't gotten a flu shot in years since the last time that I did I ended up actually getting the flu and I haven;t had it again since I haven't gotten the shot. I might have to be more careful this year though as I don't want to have the flu. Maybe I will go get that shot after all and try it one more time!!

Oh no, I hate it that you've got the flu. There's something really bad going on down this way. I did get a flu shot this year but I've always heard there are so many strains of the flu virus that they just can't include a vaccine for all of them. I have a sinus/cold/coughing problem right now.
Hope you get plenty of rest, drink liquids, and keep warm.

Hi Jill, I am sorry to hear that you are poorly, I was in bed a week with it in November and it totally wiped me out. Healing huggles to you I think today. Hope you feel better soon. I haven't ever had a flu jab but may consider it next year. Can't think I have bragged about anything and had it come back at me but I am sure I must have at some stage. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi jill! I'm so sorry to hear that you have that nasty flu!
I know how terrible it is to have it! I wouldn't dare say
one word about not getting it! My doctor and his nurse were
trying so hard to give me that flu shot this year and I told
the no! It hurts! I always get the flu and I get it really
bad and also get brochitis on top of it so they thought I
really needed the shot! So far I haven't gotten the flu and
I am waiting because I have never not gotten it! So for me
it's only a matter of time and "when"! So drink lot of juices
and hot tea and get lots of rest and feel better soon!

I am sorry that you are ill. Take plenty of fluids and rest. The rest is a must. This has happend to me too. I bragged about how I have not had a cold for seven years at least and what happens? Of course within days I am knocked out with the flu. I've never had a flu shot but am thinking that I should start to get one each year. I do hope that you will be better soon. Are you feeling better today? Am sorry to hear you have been sick. I do get a flu shot and did this year but have been sick twice this winter and we still have 2 more months of winter. Think I have bronchitis and have felt pretty awful since Sunday. Did call the doctor but was too weak to take myself so he prescribed two medications. So far they are not helping but have only been on them for two days. It's been a sick winter over here in our house. I use to always brag that I never had a cold for 8-10 years and really didn't. Was rarely sick. Now that I am older that seems to be changing. Can't wait for spring and the warm sun.

Hope your feeling better quickly. Its terrible when we are sick. I don't get a flu shot and normally don't get sick with the flu often.

oh iam sorry you are not feeling well drink plenty of fliuds and stay warm starve a fever.drink apple juice instead of orange juice.there is no cure for the flu it has to run it,s course. i took a flu shot i hope it work a lot of people say they still got the flu we shall see what happens.i haven,t been sick so far.no i don,t bragg lol.i hope you feel better soon.

I didn't get my flu shot this year, completely forgot actually, and I'm a nervous wreck. I don't want it, haha. And now is the time for sure that it starts coming out all over the place.
I've bragged about how my car is so old and just keeps running and running. Then boom, the bomb drops and in it goes for repairs. Now I don't say a word, haha, knock on wood. It never fails when you do that. Best to zip it up, lol!

Sorry you were feeling poorly. That flu sure is a nasty friend to have at this time of the year. Not everyone can handle a flu shot. I used to get one every year. I got sick on the first one, the second one was fine. This year I did not get the shot. I have been having sinus problems instead. Achy head, stuffy nose, coughing, light headedness, go figure.
At my age, I think that I should put the flu shot on my must do list. But it is still scary. Your odds of getting the flu are just as good with or without the flu. The severity may be reduced by having the shot. Who Knows?
Any way Jill, feel better and take care of yourself. Stay warm, drink lots of fluids and get lots of rest. Best of luck throughout the rest of the winter. Have a nice day my friend..

I drink lemonade each day , when flu hit me it ends like in hours
taking vitamin C upon infection wont help ya u should take it daily if u wanna ends the flew when it hits its like a precaution thing !!

No I don't get a flu shot as the one time I did I got so sick. And I do get it but not as bad as other people. My Mom got a flu shot and was sick for two weeks. If I get one I get sick now. So I take my chanses. You have a great day. Your friend onlydia

I'm sure I will get sick but not as sick as when I got the shot. I'm sick for like two days then I'm ok. I'm not a big oh no don't touch that or don't come over here your sick person. My boss is sick and very one is like don't come near me. I walked up to him and gave him a big hug and said mite as well, get it over with.
Well, guess who is the only one not to get sick. Me so I have to go to work. Everybody else got sick and came to work or stayed home. Tehy asked me did you get a flu shot I'm like no. I just don't get sick that much and when I do it is for two days down and out. And it is on the weekend how rude is that. Sometimes I think if you expose yourself to it it is better. Kind of like chicken poxs. When a Mom hears that somebody elses kids have it they take theres right over here get it and get it over with. You have a good day. Glad your feeling better

I get a flu shot every year, and I haven't had the flu in a long time. Usually when I get sick it's just the common cold, so I guess I have to thank the flu shot for that. But then sometimes my sister gets sick with the flu even after we got our shots, so I don't know about that.

i get the flu shot every year EXCEPT i skipped this seasons (08 winter) and now i have been sick non stop since oct so i am definitely never ever skipping it again!!

Hope you are feeling better, that flu is nasty.
I used to brag that I had never had the flu, and my first bout with it was ten years ago. OMG, I was so sick, I felt like each breath was my last. I do not take the flu shot, my stupidity, because I really should.
My next bout with the flu was one year ago, I felt like crap while I was at church, and felt really cold, by that night I had chills, fever and was throwing up. It kept me out of work for three days, and I really was not feeling great when I went back to work.
Seems like that was the turning point in my relatioship with my boss, she did not like the idea that I was out of work for three days at such a busy time at work, and I think she held that against me. She never treated me nice after that, and four months later she laid me off.

That's bad Jill.I hope when you read this message you're well already. I bragged before too that I won't have those bone problems but now, I do have them..lol..I guess that's the physiologic progression of life. One cannot run away from it, no matter what because it is inevitable. happy mylotting.
