Do you ever get a song stuck in your head?

Come on sing it with me now, "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands...." I don't know why my co-worker said this today, she didn't even sing it, but that's all it took. For the rest of the day, I kept hearing it in my head over and over and over.... Usually, the songs that pop into my head and get stuck there are the most recent and favorite songs that my 4 yr old nephew will be singing oround the house. Don't ask me how many Wiggles songs I know. I don't even try and fight it. Sometimes, though, I do sing out loud just to see if I can put it in my co-worker's heads (I know that's bad, lol). So here's the question, does this often happen to you and what was the most recent song that you just couldn't shake loose? "If you're happy and you know it and you really want to show it, if you're happy and you know it clap your hands!"

Yes, I don't even know who sings it but there is this song that the lyrics are sung fast, more spoken and it goes.... "Oh tell me what I want, what I really, really want, I'll tell ya what I want, what I really, really want... Just those two lines. They'll pop into my head and won't go away! Maybe there's a freudian reason on that one......what do I want!

Well, I'll be able to solve one mystery for you.... The group that sings the song is the Spice Girls and the name of the tune is If You Want to Be My Lover. I can name that tune in 6 notes. Oh and thanks...now that song is going through my head lol.

Going to work, the song on the radio was "Heart of Mine" by Boz Scaggs. It brings back a lot of memories of a long, lost love. Sniff. The line that sticks to my mind is "then you'll always be the one, he left behind..."

Well, I wouldn't want a song that bums me out getting stuck in my head, especially when I'm on my way to work, that's no fun at all. One day when i was driving to work I turned on teh radio and the song "Highway to Hell" was playing. Do you think I should have taken that as a bad omen, lol? I almost got off teh expressway and went back home.

Have you heard that song Umbrella by Rihanna? It get stuck in my head everytime I hear it. Its pretty catchy and I'm starting to hate that song. It makes me feel energetic while being being bored wishing the song was over. Songs that get stuck in my head are the ones I know and if someone is singing it. Whenever someone sings a song near me It gets stuck in my head for no reason. Some songs are good some songs are bed, cant get rid of it. The more you want to forget the more you will remember, really tough thing to do.

I hate when a song I really don't like starts going through my head. There has got to be nothing worse than that. Next, is tv themes songs...those will just about drive me crazy. But tv theme songs are usually the ones I'll share with my co-workers, just to torment them, lol. (God, I can't wait till I can use smileys.)

Yeah I often do get a song stuck in my head. It's usually songs that I last listened to, no matter what it is. The last few days I've been getting Ashley Tisdale songs popping up in my head because that was the last thing I listened to a couple of days ago.

Currently, the song that get stucked on my head is Umbrella by Rihanna. Mostly the end of the song. Here goes: Umbrella, eh, eh, eh, under my umbrella, eh, eh, eh. It keeps coming back. But it's fun. There was one time when my colleague keeps telling me, it's not that I'm distracting him or something, but he's just curious why I kept on repeating the song over and over. I'm always singing that song and the funny thing is, I'm singing the end of the few lines of the song. It happens a lot of times really, perhaps I really like music and Rihanna too. thanks for sharing, uicbear!

I am usually the one who goes up and down the halls at the nursing home singing. I get told to shut up alot. With the dementia residents, sometimes singing and wiggling helps distract them from exit-seeking behavior. Making up silly songs also helps some of them take their pills better too. I will hear a song in the car on the way to work and get part of it stuck in my head and keep singing it or humming it all day.

Lol. I used to work with a woman who sang all the time. We'd been running around like maniacs and she'd be there calm as could be singing quietly. I asked her about it one day and she told me it's puts her in a better place and that I only should worry about her if she stopped singing.

Yea, alot of Disney songs are catchy and easy to remember. We took a trip to Disneyworld in December and even my 4 year old nephew is getting sick of me singing, wait for it... It's a world of laughter a world of tears It's a world of hopes and a world of fears There's so much that we share That it's time we're aware.... You know the rest!

That's the LSS or Last Song Syndrome. The very last song you heard will stuck in your head. Even if you sleep it will still be there..

Well, since it's a syndrome I should be covered under my medical insurance I'd think? Lol. Just so you know, every time someone mentions a song in this post that I know, that's the song that starts going through me head. Maybe this discussion wasn't such a good idea...hmmmmm.

Thankfully I don't know that song. But it is bad when you have a song that you don't like going through your brain over and over.

I guess I'm lucky, I usually only get songs I like stuck in my head so I don't mind. A song that repeats in your head is known as an "Earworm"...weird, I know. I learned that in one of my English classes...we got way off topic. I tend to get things like Rascal Flatts, Hanson, and Lady Antebellum stuck in my head. I think the only song I have gotten stuck that I didn't like was my school fight song...we had to memorize it and then it just wouldn't go away!

I called it a last song syndrome (LSS)...(^_^)...honestly...today i don't have one today, but it sometimes happen to me when I heard a song that I hated the most or the jingle in the commercial. There was a time that I couldn't sleep because It keeps on playing in my head and when I wake up the song pops in my mind again. Good thing, today I don't have one.??????

There was a time when this song called "Selfish" was stuck in my head. I don't know, the beat was too catchy I guess and the lyrics are trance-inducing. Usually, I hate those dance-type of songs but "Selfish" was just keeps on popping into my head in the worst possible times. It is very catchy, I tell you. listen to it in YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0flVqG2Wyyg Now do you believe me?
