I went to the World Baseball Classic's Semi-finals and final game at San Diego's Petco Park back in '06. Japan beat Cuba for the title in the final game. Daisuke Matsuzaka was the starter for Japan and that along with the 2 semi-final games were possibly the best baseball games I've ever been to. Petco Park was alive and buzzing with baseball fever and patriotic pride. Cuban and Japanese flags everywhere, people wearing their country's colors, singing their anthems and cheering for their national teams louder then I've ever heard before. The energy I felt that day was so exhilerating and infecting that I can still feel it today and I can't wait until the next World Baseball Classic starts this March.
Round 1 is March 5-12
Pool A/Tokyo: China, Chinese Taipai, Japan, Korea
Pool B/Mexico City: Australia, Cuba, Mexico, South Africa
Pool C/Toronto: Canada, Italy, USA, Venezuela
Pool D/San Juan: Dominican Republic, Kingdom of the Neatherlands, Panama, Puerto Rico
Two teams will continue on to the second round, March 14-19, in San Diego and Miami
The Semi finals are at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles on March 21, 22
And then the final game is also at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles on March 23th.
I can't wait and plan on going to all of the San Diego games and all of the Los Angeles game.
Back in '06 Team USA didn't do so well as the tournament takes place during spring training and they weren't quite ready. Hopefully this time they'll take it more seriously and have already started practicing so we can make a go of it this time. Conpetition in this event if fierce.
well, c u there!:?)

Well I think that Korea will surprise again this year. Japan on the other hand hasn`t come close to matching up in the last few years since they won the WBC. Never the less I intend to be in the Tokyo dome to see the Japan/Korea Game. This year I think the US will take the game more serious. I am once again however picking the Dominican Republic to win it all.
