So, the situation is never simple here but Hamas and the Palestinians say they declare peace and recognise Israel if the Israelis return to their 1967 borders But Israel essentially claims it is protecting it's own interests.
Who is right and what do you see as the best solution to the situation.
Please no rascism or anti semitism. Only sensible and rational arguments,
Thanks

The Palestinians are not in control of Gaza from where the missiles were fired into Israel. Also the Hamas is using the ordinary Palestinians as human sheilds thinking that the Israelis will be afraid of killing innocent people. But Israel just made it clear that they want to end the strike with little harm on their side. In this situation the only solution to bring temporary peace is to neutralise Hamas and reprimend those countries which helped it from doing so. Also Israel should do penance for what it did in Palestin. There is no one side solution for bilateral problems.

After centuries of battling, they won't work out a peace treaty. Israel must survive, and so must the Arab countries. Since the Palestinians allow terrorists to start every squirmish, regardless of the fact that they must know by now that Israel always ends things in victory, maybe it's time for them to be absorbed into the many Arab countries and leave Israel alone. Neither side is about to go quietly, but something has to give!

If you're referring to Hamas as terrorists than that is only half true. The USA, Canada, Australia and the EU consider it a terrorist organisation but many countries including the UK, France an others only consider the paramilitary arm terrorist. Truth is Hamas was a democratically elected government by the people of palestine.
Secondly Israel broke the 2008 November ceasefire when the raided in Gaza causing Hamas to respond. Israel has admitted this

It's true; hamas is technically a political group, and if you were a Palestinian living in the Gaza Strip you would definitely not see them as a terrorist group either. Hamas has overwhelming popular support among ARabs and Palestinians, and this just goes to show how everyone in the Gaza strip is feeling the effect of the Isreali oppression. So when Hamas fights back, you can't really blame them. If you're being starved of electricity, food, medical supplies... what are you going to do, sit back and die? No! Better to stand and fight then sit quietly and go without protest, I think.

The best solution would be for Israel's neighbours to open their borders and make new homes, with international aid, for those Arabs calling themselves Palestinians there. They will never co-exist peacefully with Israel.

Yes, it is a very complicated issue between these two neighbors, even UN is in very difficult position to bring peace into that region, so many resolution and treaty passed and signed but violence continued. Each authority has own reason to justify war and extinguish the whole population due to century old hatred. They had been fighting each other on and off for as long as they exist. I will leave you to sort it out for them.
