I prefer soft cookies..even in a sugar cookie. There aren't many that I like that are crispy. I usually don't overbake mine, but I have a friend that bakes hers too long and they get kind of hard, but that is the way they are used to having them. So do you like your cookies soft or more cripsy?

I like mine soft and chewy. I just think they taste better if they are soft and chewy versus hard and crispy. And I love to bake cookies and get them right out of the oven and eat one. Oh that's so yummy and it makes me want to go bake some right now. LOL

I would prefer to have my cookies crispy. Because I have a problem with tasting things, if I overbake them a little bit and let them burn on the ends or bottom just a little bit I can taste them. Then I get out the hammer, bust them up and eat them...lol I don't bake very often because I like sweets too well. Chocolate chip is my favorite.

Guess I am a thumper. I can't make cookies because before they cool, I eat them all. I use to do this when the kids were home. I am so bad!

I like soft cookies in most. But you know I had these sugar cookies that were crisp and they were so good Jill I think even you would of liked these. They were the best ever. I don't know what she did but they were great. I had choc. ship like that once crispy on the out side and chewy on the inside of the cookie. You have a good day. it is -3 right now in Minneapolis. Your friend onlydia

I'm not a fan of hard, crispy cookies. The only crispy cookies that I really like are Oreo's but those are just awesome. If we are baking cookies at home then I prefer the soft, chewy cookies. They just taste so much better and they are how I feel cookies should be like.

I agree they lose some of their flavor when they are baked too long!

I tend to prefer them crispy on the outside - chewy on the in... so you get a little resistence when you bite, but then there is also something to sink your teeth into. I have been craving cookies all day!

Mmmmmm, soft and chewy, yummy! If I end up having some cookies that are a little hard, I take a slightly damp paper towel, put them over the cookies, and heat them up in the micrwave. It normally softens them and I'm a happy camper, lol!

Me too, I prefer them to be soft. crispy ones are usually thin and soft ones are bigger.lol...I like them big and delicious and soft. more like muffins. The flavor I like most is "ube" or yam. happy mylotting.

I prefer mine soft and chewy, but if they are soft and chewy, they should also be big. Big enough for you to nibble on for atleast a minute or so. I have eaten crispy cookies but the reason I don't like themis that they are hard, and I want to go for the cookies which can be split in half easily.

I don't like hard ones either and when you dunk them they get in the bottom of your cup! Yuck!

I love the soft and chewy gooey of a cookie coming right out of the oven! I don't like crispy cookies, but I can certainly handle them with a cup of milk! I should treat myself to cookies and milk one night just for working so hard to lose weight, but only portion them by putting them in saran wrap-two per package. LOL

I enjoy soft baked cookies. I always have. Amazingly enough there is a lot of people that do, but they don't realize it until they taste them. The ones that are easy to make are the tub of cookies that you can purchase at a Sam's Club or even a Wal-mart. I believe they are easy, because you can just take out the amount you want and throw it in the oven to bake. I do this as a snack sometimes. I usually throw them into an oven pre-heated at 350 degrees for about 10-11 minutes. Sometimes they come out still gooey in the middle and sometimes if you let them "air bake" for about 5 minutes on top of the hot oven, then they will get the right consistency. Some people have also picked on me because I will eat raw cookie dough. Some people actually say that they believe I have gotten an iron stomach and that I am immune to salmonella poisoning. I am glad that some one else prefers soft cookies. God Bless.

Funny how you post this now as I just made some cookies. If they are baked too much then they are too crunchy. If I cook them for exactly ten minutes they are soft and a bit chewy. Any longer, they turn out more crispy once cooled. So the trick is in a fully preheated oven, each batch and not to over cook! The cookies I made are oatmeal butterscotch chip with whole wheat flour. Delicious! I love cookies. Chewy, crispy and soft. Even sugar cookies, i will dip in my tea so they are not so crunchy. Thank you for the post.

Hi Jill, Oooey, gooey, chewy!!! The best cookies are soft and chewy!!! Hot chewy chocolate chips are awesome!! There are a few that I prefer on the firmer side, like snickerdoodles, and peanut butter. I don't like them crisp, just firm so they melt in your mouth. Yummm! I think I'm going to put cookies on my list of things to do during these next three weeks. I'm going to be off work for a while due to lay-off. The plant will be doing some upgrading. Good topic Jill. Have a nice day my friend..

I prefer mine soft and chewy as well. I grew up with those flat over baked cookies because that is the way my dad liked them and so that is how my mom made them. I cook mine for a few minutes less that the recipe says to. They stay softer longer too.

HI jill! I like mine more soft and chewy! It really depends on the cookies. I definitely don't like them cooked too much. I don't mind if they are a little crispy as long as they aren't hard of burnt! I love cookies when they first come out of the oven. I especially love chocolate chip cookies when they are hot! The are my very favorites!
