Aloe Vera, lavender essential oil, and vitamin E oil have both been used to successfully lessen scars. With any them, apply them several times a day. The age of the scar will determine how long it will take to see improvement. The older the scar is, the longer it will take to see any improvement. You can also use lemon juice to bleach a scar that is off-color and therefore lesson the appearance of the scar. Again, you would apply it several times daily. To lessen discoloration of the scar tissue, try to keep the scarred area out of direct sunlight.

A lot of things that you read about for scars tend to work better on scars that are newly formed. Things that sometimes work on new scars are things like tea tree oil and vitamin E. However, keep in mind this doesn't always work and scars just have to fade on their own over time.
If you have a thick scar like keloid or something, tea tree sometimes work on newly formed scars but that does not always work. Massage is the best thing for keloid type scars, it helps break up the collagen that make up scars to reduce it's size.

Lemon juice is natural bleach and helps in lightening the scars and blemishes of the skin. Aloe Vera gel to the fresh wounds helps prevent the formation of permanent scars.

Well I guess there is but not for big deep scars, and maybe it's just good for babies and kids alike but I doubt if it applies as good w/ adults. I don't know if there is like that here but I remember when we were kids my mom used to apply and rub it in our scars a substance called SEBO DE MACHO & MANTICA DE CACAO. These are both paste-like oily thing made to lighten if not to to get rid of scars. I noticed that my small scars had lightened then and they are not very obvious by now but I was thinking that it's because kids' skin wil still stretch unlike adults' but I guess those still help.
