Just this month, 3 branches of Walgreen pharmacy here in our town has been robbed. The robber is not aftering for the money, beverages, cigarettes, nor foods but PAIN RELIEVER medicine. According to the news I have watched earlier, this pain reliever medicine if used improperly will cause addictive. This pain reliever says the effect of this is higher compare to the heroine. That sounds really scary since I have noticed people here in the US are so dependent with medicines.
To you dear mylotters, I just want to know your point of view about this issue. Are you taking any medicine? How long are you taking it now?

It is a shame that so many people are robbing people over silly little things like Codiene, Vicadin, and other pain pills. I have seen people offer like $10 a piece for meds that even cost reg. only about $10 for 20 pills or such just to feel that high. I know for myself I have had people steal Vicodin and Hydrocodone from my home and purse and never think anything of it either. I think people just fake some pain to a doctor who gives them the medication and they end up getting hooked to where they have to steal to keep them feeling good as well.
I have Hydrocodone which I take as needed as I am prone to Migraines and severe Rhumetoid arthritis, and with being Diabetic, and insulin diabetic at that this is all I can take that does not interfere with my BG levels as well. But on average a prescription of like 20 pills usually will last me about 6 months or so, as I take them only when needed, and also break them in half as well.

Being addictive to pain killers depends on your pain tolerance. You develop a low tolerance on pain, if whenever you feel it, you immediately take some medicines to relieve it which is not good. You may not take medicines if the pain is tolerable. Pain reliever if not taken with food could cause peptic ulcer. I think the robber will sell those pain relievers he robbed to people who may be addicted to it.

I will say I don't like pain killers b/c they make me vomit I know lots of people who do like them, but I was addicted to other kinds of prescription meds that I took for about 5 years. I have been quit 10 months now.
