We all know that the press is one of the coloumns of support for the democracy. But what will happen if the press tries to save the guilty and execute the innocent. In the near past there were many scandals and scams brought up by the media which were later found untrue. Do you think that laws are needed to restrict the press so that it only brings out the truth rather than decieve the reader or the viewer?

The press are using a lot more freedom than what they are required to take. Most of the print and visual media are unwantedly using this tool to enhance their readership and increase their revenue. But we classify the whole as culprits. But majority of people in this field are mostly reporting false news, gossips etc. Today the media are concentrating more on less impoertant news. But personally i think press are overusing their freedom

Ouch, well being one of those media people you are talking about, just to let you know, some of us actually do live by what is called a journalist creed. Those who do not, should not be in the industry. I always check, double check, and triple check my facts and back it up. That is my job as well as getting the story out there. The other thing is, if a press person continues to get things wrong, don't support them. Honestly we can not write if we do not have people to write for because they won't read it. There is one thing larger than the press, it is the people who support or disarm them. Kind Regards, Aingealicia

I tend to believe that the freedom of speech needs to remain. What is needed is an education of the general public about not believing all that they read. Teach to question sources and think for themselves.
