Bad credit

Can anyone give me some advice on how to get my bad credit rating improved? With the recession going on me and my partner have got behind on quite a few bills, have some arrears and just general debts. I am worried in the future we won't have a good enough credit rating to move house or get loans and things like that. Any advice welcome thanks!?

The first thing in getting rid of bad credit is getting rid of the cause. If you have anything that you owe money on that has to be paid off first to clear up your debts and owes. Then you may be able to qualify for a credit card to build your credit. I just know the first step right now is paying off everything.
