What's wrong folks? Can't take the heat?

Some of the arguments I've involved myself in I've dared to.. gasp.. propose another point of view. Even argue. I love debate. It's how we solve problems in a free society. Shame some people can't take a simple challenge to their way of thinking. Do you dare to challenge a MyLotter's point of view or are you worried they'll negative-rate you so you only join "discussions" you already agree with? Do you "minus" someone's post if it disagrees with your point of view? Where do you draw the line?

As you can see, I have many posts under my belt yet do not have the perfect 10 ranking that is so important to some. I join in discussions that interest me, whether I agree with the original poster or any of the participants. I also enjoy a good exchange of differing views and have even been known to modify my opinion when faced with a logical and valid point I had not considered from an opposing side. I don't "minus" a post simply because I disagree with that person's point of view. If they are ugly or attacking, that would rate a "minus" but I really don't bother with that too much because the rankings aren't attached to your earnings in any way so why waste the effort to symbolically slap someone on the wrist? I will "plus" someone who deserves the recognition in a hot minute though.

I draw out the line on discussions which I feel may go overboard. Some people would raise unconnected points when they feel they are losing a discussion. If left unchecked the discussion goes on and on, going from one topic to another. I prefer keeping a discussion to the points originaly raised.
I do not give a negative rating just because someone totally disagree with me on the same point. When a person digresses I do not make further comments. I simply do not want to waste my time going around in circles.
all the best,

Arguments don't bother me. I don't get offended easily though. Some people do. I like debate. They should have a debate board.
