can't lan a computer running in xp with one running in vista

I am having problem in creating a lan network consisting of computers running in xp and vista. The problem is with vista, it just doesnt find the computers running in xp. Can anyone help, pls?

Yes it possible i have 14 computers running in my office the main is of linux the other 6 are of XP and remaining are VISTA we have no problem in connecting the LAN. I suggest you to check the IP address and configure it properly.

check your IP address, every computer must have different IP. I use six connection computer 2 with XP and 4 with 98ME and it works, or something else you don't setting it. do you have to installing "Client for Microsoft Network" in your Local Area Properties. Usually IP using 192.168.x.x for class C, example 192.168.0.1 and every computer must different don't make it same it will be conflict each others.

Dear Its not possible that vista not found XP pc.... please check the IP address weather its in same range and same workgroup.... and then find computers.
