OK yesterday it was Cary and how well he was doing despite having autism. Well last night I thought, you know, Naomi just came home with three math tests that she got 100% on. So hello world, my daughter is doing really great in math. Maybe my Dad is right about genius (or at least certain traits) skipping a generation, because she certainly didn't get it from me! Well she could have gotten it from her Dad also. Anyway, I'm really proud of her. Hooray, Naomi!

You have every reason to brag. She really is a very bright girl and I can understand how proud you must be of her. Despite being a teacher I could not do math - in my time you could get into college with a science subject as math was not compulsory. Thank God for that or I would not have received an education. when I began teaching in my adopted country they asked me to fill in as a teacher with a class as the teacher was sick - you got it. My first lesson at a new school was Maths!!!

I'm not fond of math at all but I did OK with it up until 8th grade (pre-algebra). My mind just couldn't wrap itself around algebra. Hopefully my kids will have an easier time with that!

I hope so too. Darn if she were the older child she could help Dearra with her math. lol
Yep I figured you were catching up. And now I have to!

Me too and Dearra seems to have inherited that, but the twins are pretty good at math so far!

No kidding, there have been a few second and third grade word problems that I really had to think about!

Hi again
Glad to see you aren't paying favorites, and give each of the kids a time in the spotlight! I'm just wondering, have you show them these postings, where you tell us how great their doing and then we respond by congratulating them? I think when I was a kid ( and of course there was no such thing as the Internet, so maybe they will not be as amused as I might've been.) I would have thought it was neat, to see all the comments, that people said to my mom when she was talking about me. Don't know though, perhaps because they've grown up with the Internet, that's not even the slightest bit exciting.
Man, maybe I am starting to get old?
Anyway, congratulations kids and keep up the great work! My deep and inspirational thought for today. One who tries and fails, can always try again. However, the one who never tries, because he's afraid he will fail, we'll never know the thrill of success because he never takes the risk and so will neither fail or succeed.
That's me own personal quote, in case you're interested. It popped into my wee noggin' as I was posting this response! Pretty profound, if I do say so myself. Just don't expect another one, as I've used up all my brain power on this one!

I haven't really showed them these, not a bad idea though!

Very proud. Maybe she'll take after her grandpa and be a scientist!
