My baby is allergic to protien and fat.

I have a new born child that is allergic to fat and protien. She has to have a special formula. when I ask the doctors if she will out grow this they tell me they do not know. Does anyone know anything about this problem with babies? I can not find anyone who has had this problem. She is know 3 months old and has not gained but three pounds and has grow only 2 inches. They have run enough test you would figure they would know more about it but they cannot answer any of my questions. If anyone could tell my anything about this it would be a big help.
