How do you like the Love of Siam?

There is a Thai film released in 2007 entitled the Love of Siam. I've just watched it recently and am deeply touched by the love shown in it. I wonder if there is anyone would feel the same way with me here.
I am not quite confident that this film will be lauded by many people from the West, because, after all, we share almost diametrical aesthetic standards. Neither do I expect it would be popular among even the Asian group, for it touches a controversial theme - homosexuality, though it is not the only theme of the film.

I must say that it is a great movie. I just watched it last night. I felt the emotions though it didn't me cry as compared to others films maybe because it is not a heavy drama to make us cry but. It is a realistic movie, as we compare it to the real life situations, there are the ups and downs.
At first, I was really disappointed how the movie ended, because in the first place i did not expect that they wouldn't end up together. But then, that is life. It is for the good for the both of them.
If they ended up together, both of their lineage will end up, as they cannot procreate because they are both male -- end of their genealogy. :|
It's a feeling of ambivalence. You know that the ending was not happy but you know that they it for the good.
That's all that I can say.
Hope that I'll see more movies like this one, worth to be treasured.
Can you please suggest movie like this one if you know one? I'd love to see more :)

P.S. I would just like to say that I did not felt that GAYish. It is just like, being who you are, showing what you feel be it a love for a friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, family. :)

There only one thing I can say about the film Love of Siam. It is great! it has a wonderful story that made cry. I have watched it las night and until now I still can't move on about the story. This film moves my entire view on homosexuality. I also love the actors here.

About the actors and actresses, they are really charming. And their performed extremely good. By the way, would you agree with me that the two boy actors, namely Mario and Pchy all wear very charming smiles? Gosh, I've never seen similar young actors like them in China.
I remembered that I was rather reluctant when my friend urged me to watch it. But it really went beyond my expectation. I cannot remember how many times I've watched it. By the way, did you watched the abridged version or the directors version which last for over 200 minutes? I have watched both, and it seems that the directors version is better.

I will definitely agree with that! They both Pchy and Mario are awesome. Right now I'm listening to the OST of the film. It is great really!

I watch it last year and the movie was really really great.. And the movie shows us that love does not limit us from any age and gender..
