I have a question for anyone who has gone to Fort Benning, Georgia to attend their childs graduation. My family and I fly out on February 25th, we are taking the red eye so we will arrive at 6:00 a.m. in the morning. I am trying to decide where the best place for us to stay. There are accommodations on the base, and the hotels we have to wait 30 days prior to make our reservations. However they also have cabins that you can stay in. So my question is; is there anyone out there who has stayed in these cabins and if they liked it? I am curious about staying in these lodgings versus the hotel on the base so I just want to make the right decision. Any comments or knowledge on this subject? Any info you can provide me in regards to staying in Fort Benning and the graduation itself would be so helpful to me and my family! We are so excited about going and seeing our son! Thanks in advance for your advise!

My first husband was in Fort Benning for Boot camp. you will proble need to made reservations at a hotel because by now all of the on base facilities will be booked. I tried to get on base because we has a small child at the time and the closer the better but they had people that had reserved rooms the first week of camp. the on base facilities are pritty nice when you can get them and a lot cheaper.

I called to make reservations on base and I was told that they don't even start booking until 30 days in advance. I was to call no earler than Jan 27th. That is why I was asking which is better - the on base hotels or the on base cabins. I think I can chose at this point and was curious if the accommodations were good in the cabins and the hotels. thanks for the response, tho.
