Who on here does embroidery or any kinds of needlepoint anymore? I just bought 3 big jumbo packs of embroidery floss and can't wait to get started using it. Years ago I had a lot of patterns, iron ons, and hoops, etc. But now I am starting from scratch. Where do you all get your patterns and iron ons from these days? Also, where do you get your fabrics? What kinds of projects do you make using embroidery and needlepoint and crossstitch?

I have seen some patterns online as well as Herschners and I see them at Walmart and Micheals.
I've also just designed my own with marker and transfered it that way.
I have books and magazines too that have patterns for embroidery and x-stitch.
I was just recently given a couple "kits" from the 1970's by a friend. LOL
The only other thing I could suggest is amazon or ebay.

I like to do embroidery and needlepoint both. For needlepoint I usually buy the kits for pictures. I bought iron ons at Mary Maxims online, but have seen them at Herrschner's, too. I have a set of "flour sack" tea towels I am going to embroider. HObby Lobby is a favorite for floss and fabric.

I do cross stitch in my spare time. I have finished quite a few and I am still working on one right now. It's a buddha figure that I plan to give as a gift to my brother. ^-^

I like to cross stitch, but I'm a practical gal and if I can do something on a shirt rather than a wall hanging, I'm happier.
So, I like to get waste canvas and stitch on shirts or get bibs and make baby bibs. I'm just happier that way.
Even when I needlepoint, I like it to be more than a picture, tho I did one for my brother years ago, but he's done his place "southwestern" and I found a picture that was southwest and in his palate.

I want to try embroidery but right now I don't have the time to learn, I basically only know to do blanket and back stitches. But I love to do cross stitch, I'm working in a project for my parents anniversary and I'm really excited about how it's coming out.
