My husband and I watched this movie last night and it got me to thinking. Doyou think that something like this could actually happen? Do you think that we are to blame for the recent changes in weather? What do you think you would do if this happened and you were one of the survivors? If you were told that you were no longer allowed to drive your vehicle, how would you get around? Do you think that it is too late to fix some of the damage that we have done to our earth? Do you try to find ways to help others help the environment and if so how?

Its scary to think about but its true. Its our fault, what with the industiral revolution, and nuclear power and all. Great tech advances, our socitey is so far with those, but with every step forward I think it was two steps back for mother earth. Its a shame. And its terrifing to think about. Did you see the Discovory channel special about the human foot print. Oh my, we as a nation consume so much. its devasting.

I think that's why today we can use recycle bag for shopping and buy organic clothes. I like that movie because of its tension. I usually walk to the train or bus. Still one day I may want to buy a car. But it's too early to make a decision for that. Since people have been damaging earth for such a long period. It would take double that period to recovery.

I think a lot of the changes in weather over the last century are purely the result of mankind, and the Industrial Revolution of so long ago, affecting our world today. All of the cardion dioxide and other pollutants produced as a by-product from factories has slowly over time destroyed much of the ozone, and by that, also melted a lot of the ice from the north and south poles. It may not seem apparent that global warming is taking place (it's supposed to get down to 10 below tonight where I love, doesn't seem logical to me), but that's probably just because the change in temperature does not have to be so severe in a place as fragile as the ice caps. About the world re-freezing over though, I cannot invision that happening - at least not anytime soon. I have read about the Earth's magnetic field actually changing, such as in the movie 'The Core', due to the Earth's core actually changing the direction it rotates - apparently a natural function that happens every few million years. When the last switch was, I don't know, but I don't think it's due to happen again very soon. That would have major effects on our planet though, such as lightning storms and the entire magnetic field to stop functioning properly, until the change in rotation is completed....which could take years.
