This is just terrible what has happened in this town. It makes you afraid to vote one way or another, when it comes to something that can effect the economy like this. I was just watching the evening news, and the people of this town are literally struggling to survive. I am all for companies going green, but is this going to be the economic impact of doing so. This was just so sad to hear that an entire town was so reliant on a few industrial factories.

My husband was telling me about DHL closing there this morning. That is such a blow to all those families. Why didn't the government bail them out? That could close down the entire town! I'm afraid we have more of this to look forward to in the months to come. It's going to get much worse.

Welcome to my world. Down here in south central Florida our own state government recently purchased the largest employer in three counties...U.S. Sugar...and why did they buy it? For a restoration porject for the Everglades. Apparently the River of Grass and the gators are more important than the thousands of people and numerous small businesses that depend on Big Sugar. The state was kind enough to allow Sugar to continue to operate for six more harvest seasons and then who knows what will happen? Some land will still be available for....something...at this point no one knows so we're all living in limbo right now. Our Gov...with his nice tan and really white teeth...says not to worry, he'll bring in new industry. yeah...right.....
