What happens to money dropped into fountains at a mall? Donate or Pocket?

hello helpingmomsathome i researched the subject about the money that people drop into the fountains at the mall. and i found out that the mall donates that money to grant to different organizations and the article went on to say that the mall also held mall activities for different organizations as well. children and adults as well enjoy throwing pennies into the water fountain. take care and have a beautiful evening.

In Mall of Asia, there's a certain fountain there where people throw or drop their coins. Maybe, some of them believe that they may wish for their certain wants and others believe that the coin proceeds will go to specific charitable institutions. And that's true, there was one time when I witness how they give the accumulated coins to a popular charitable institution helping handicapped children.

I honestly do not know what happens to that money. I would hope that it is donated to charity but we both know that it is not. I would assume that the mall keeps it for themselvses to cover expenses. Not that they need it. They charge all the stores in the mall a lot of money for rent so they definately do not need the money that is in the wishing well. But they probably keep it anyway.

That is a really good question that I have asked myself many times when my kids beg to be able to throw money into the fountain. I hope that it is donated to a good cause but there is no telling what they do with it.

I've never really thought about this! But its a great question! I guess I like to think that it really is magical, and that somehow, when the wish as I dropped it is made true, that it just sort of 'vanishes' or dissolves away, magically!! But I do know that this is completely untrue... I would like to think it gets donated to charity - that would be nice
