Hello mylotters I need your help. I want to lose some weight. I gave birth five months ago through Cesarean section, I started having exercise 4 months after from the time I gave birth. I had read from the net that it is fine to start exercising 6 weeks after the operation but I did not do it because still too painful. The pain is killing me. So by four months after, I tried belly dancing, playing badminton sometimes and some very simple exercise. Every time I go to the mall I weigh myself because I don't have bathroom scale at home. Every time I stand in that bathroom scale my weight still the same, no changes. How come? I'm just wondering because I can wear my 28 waist line jeans which is not before but my weight still the same. Anybody knows here the effective ways and advisable procedure to lose weight for those who been through a major operation like me?

Having pain this long after a Cesarean section is not normal - please consult your physician to make sure that you are not experiencing complications from the surgery. That said, I would like to recommend a plan that has been successful for me. Please check out http://www.letsdolunch.com - this plan works with or without exercise and has been successful for many.

dhurianne, there are only three ways to lose weight. Eat less calories than your body burns. By exercise or movement, your body burns more calories than you take in. Lastly, a combination of the two. Diets, pills and powders may work for the short term, but unless you stay on the diet, pills, or powders forever, you will again find the weight you lost plus a little bit of someone elses weight. Currently they refer to it as Lifestyle Changes, but what it really very basic and simple. Bad food choices, and little or greatly reduced exerciseing. Making small changes in both these areas and maintaining them, as perminate changes will help lose weight and maintain it. Since you had surgery, and did not do much of anything after wards, you more than likely have scar tissue that formed in the muscles that were cut and stitched back together. Stretching is a great form of exercise and it help break loose the scar tissue. Scar tissue is not flexable, when it intertwines with the muscle it will restrict that muscles ability to operate properly. Breaking it down is actually that, by stretching your tearing the scar tissue loose from the muscle and allowing the body to dispose of it. Also, if you restrict your diet too much the body will slow down the metabolish, making it even more difficult to lose weight. Eat samller meals more often, 5 to 6 times a day. As you gain muscle, which weighs more than fat, your weight may not change on the scale, but you will notice it in the way your clothing fits. Weigh and measure your self weekly and keep a written record. As said before, it took months and years to gain weight and will take time to lose it. Loosing 1/2 to 1 pound a week is the healthiest. Good luck, keep us posted.

I have had 2 c-sections and the last one was one year ago, I waited 3 months and then started to watch my calorie intake and did 45 minutes of cardio workouts everyday... it worked too, I lost 25 lbs last year. I put on about 4 lbs in the last 2 months so i am going to have to start watching again what I eat and watch my calorie intake, but that is the key, you have to burn off what you take in...so keep up the excercising which is very good for you. but also remember it took 10 months to put on the weight so it wont come off overnight... like we want it too...LOL, that is what everyone told me!!
