is it necessary for married women to change their surnames after marraige to their husband's surname .do u think it is mandatory mcp's here?

Hi...Im a Lawyer By Profession, Legally speaking its not mandatory for a married women to change her surname after marriage, its totally her discreation to wht she opt for...its can't be made mnadatory because if we does so, its voilation of constitutional right...hope ur satisfied with this...

For legal purposes, you had to. I had to change mine to be entitled as my husband's beneficiary and to claim for maternity and children's health benefits.

No it isn't mandatory to change your maiden name. My mother has kept her maiden name through 4 marriages. I intend to keep mine when I get married. Although if it pleases your soon to be husband, you can actually add his last name to your name having your maiden last name at the end making his last name a middle name.
