Hi...Im a Lawyer By Profession, Legally speaking its not mandatory for a married women to change her surname after marriage, its totally her discreation to wht she opt for...its can't be made mnadatory because if we does so, its voilation of constitutional right...hope ur satisfied with this... regards

No it isn't mandatory to change your maiden name. My mother has kept her maiden name through 4 marriages. I intend to keep mine when I get married. Although if it pleases your soon to be husband, you can actually add his last name to your name having your maiden last name at the end making his last name a middle name.
