Recently i've been doing some research on google to find out a laptop for free. To my suprise i got a lot of websites offering a new brand laptop for free including shipping. But nothing in this world is free. I enter ine of the website and sign up. The process is very simple, you sign up and do some survey. As you finish with the survey you are only one step from getting a brand new laptop. But the problem is that you must be older than 18 years, residing in US. The main problem is that you must pay to complete an offer which require your credit card number. Then i thought, if it was really free why the need to pay for that amount to get the laptop. Do you people think that is it worthy to pay to complete the offer to get the laptop or is it a scam?

These websites that offer "free laptops" or "free PS3 or Wii" are not scams, they do work but take some effort on your behalf. Yes you may have to put your credit card details in, that is usually to prove that you are at least 18 years of age.
The website owners get paid for sending you to certain websites to take up offers, hence why for some products you need to get between 3 - 19 referrals before you get your "Free product"
I have managed to get a free Ipod shuffle by testing one of these sites out, as long as you remember to cancel the offer before the end date then your card will not be billed. The other downside is that once someone has registered for an offer, lets use the lovefilm offer for this example. They can not re-do this offer again at a later stage therefore less chance of getting the free product quickly.
There is another breed of this type of website growing now. Its the cashback websites. you get money back on your purchases if you use the link within the members page. The one thing they do not tell you is that they do not actually give you 100% of the cash back, they give you a small portion of it.
I hope this has been informative for you.
Kind Regards

Hi annjilena,
After completing the offers how many people did you sign up under your referral link??
If you have not received the laptop then usually you have not referred enough people as they ask for.
As you can see in the post above I received my apple shuffle after having 3 of my friends sign up on one offer each.
There are referral websites out there that actually help you out by signing up to your offers using your referral link.
Kind Regards

i don't beleive their free offers. there will be no free items in this world. if they have any offer and can get some good with us, they will tell first that we can get that item free. but lastly they will collect money from us and give products or after taking money they can cheat u by not giving the laptop or any product.
if they want to give it free to u , why they ask u;r credit card number. with this only u can understand about them . they are too fraud people and can collect more money with u;r credit card number. so don;t go for a free offers and don;t go for that fraud offers.
it is 100% fraud company when they ask for credit card . this type of companies are coming more now a days in internet. first they say free and later they collect more money from us. or they can cheat u with u;r credit card and the credit card number u have given.
so don;t beleive like that companies from next time and beaware of those companies in internet. instead of giving them more money , u can buy that product from a shop . u can get any variety one u want , in a shop.

i don't understand how any one can expect some thing for free!!!! lets fine agree that the site gets paid for your log on but can it be true that they get enough money to give you such an expensive laptop for free????????
No they are all scams they do get some money for signing up but they are not going to give you a penny. Don't fall for them better find a legitimate way to get some money and buy your own laptop.

I have learned in my life that there are few genuine people and when somebody metions the word "FREE" I really open my ears well and my eyes to read the fine sentences underneath. I think this is a scam. Why are they requesting their credit card details? If I were you I would not fall for this one.

It's a scam. No one sends you a free lap top.
Even the cheapest low powered laptops cost $200. You would need to give them more than $200 of value before they would send you one.

I bail out just like you did, i don't give my credit card number to anyone for anything I haven't decieded to buy. The offers I have seen have stated that the CCrad is for mailing and handleing, but I just don't want to have the numbers out there with a free offer.

If the laptop was free, including shipping...what were you supposed to pay for? It sounds like a website with a bogus offer. What the are really after was personal information and credit card numbers of US citizens. It sounds like a phishing attempt.

Many people are attracted by the word "FREE". By this way only others cash our efforts so don't belive that site i think no one will offer you a free laptop i saw many survey site which promise to give money but they do not give money i think this is also like that only but i don't want to discourage you just see for the payment proof and go a head working for that site.

HI!
I've had experience that a lot of times and nothing works. Most of the sites offering free laptops are just scams. Either they needed to survey or they needed your money is always the case. Nothing is really for free nowadays so it's better to work and save money for something we really want. Moreover, unless your really sure of the identity of someone who sent you the email or you joined a legal raffle in your place don't let go of your money :).

You're right. It isn't worthy and 99.9% or more sure it's a scam. Each week I am told I won a lottery I never entered, or getting a million dollars as my share of helping to sneak ten million out of a bank in wherever. I did one of those surveys for money once. Of course after I wouldn't give my cc number they said I didn't "fit into their required demographics."
I knew when I started it was a scam but curiosity overcame me. How much of your time did they take? Smile.

never belive such mails they r just the trash mails. it is human tendency to get attracted to such mails from now on dont belive in them and waste ur time. u will either have to pay before making an order or after making one. i have tried a lot of those and just was a waste of time

No,its a scam. I get email's all the time titled, get a free laptop, free $500 Walmart gift, free $1,000 Visa and other titles of that type. The process is the same, you have to do a survey. It turns out that the survey is about a thousand questions. If you say yes to any of them then a pop up comes up with another offer. Then after all these questions there is 5 or 6 more offers and you must get one.It does require a credit.
So,it is not really a survey with normal questions. What makes you think that you will really get a free laptop?

There are a lot of scams on the net my friend, they would try to lure the viewing public to answer certain surveys thinking that they will be getting something in return and in your case it was a laptop but after all the survey that you have been through you will realized that still there is a price for what you have though something that for free. be careful in scams like this my friend.

Hai Atish,
There are many sites which offer freebies when I was orkutting I just found a popup where it was dispaled like "free T-shirts to your home"i.e including shipping.I just gave a try I am surprised they really sent me free T-shirt.
But your case is different, you have to be very carefull,I dont believe anyone could give you free laptops but giving a try is not a problem but when it asks for your credit card number,i feel it can be a scam.
If you are still confused go to some sites like www.surveypolice,.com
and leave a comment with the website's url and people will tell you that's scam or not
