The dishes in this house are washed up after every meal. If I happen to be watching something on TV my husband will do the dishes and he always dries them and puts them away. We take this chore equally. Dishes never pile up in this house.

that is the right thing to do, us2owls. it is not good practice to have those dishes pile up at the kitchen sink. it invites all those undesired insects and the spawning of germ, bacteria and viruses plus fungi yet. besides, it is so easy to request everyone to clean their dirtied dishes after them if ever no one can be counted upon to do the chore all by him/herself.

I wanted to add that I dont like to let them pile up. I cant stand a sink full of dirty dishes, so I try to stay on top of them.

depends most of the time i wash the next day when i going to cook. In my floor, the russian gramma turn off the cold water everyday after 10pm so we dont get cold water after 10. most of the time after i finish my dinner it is like 9 am and you know we get tired or lazy after dinner or i would usually need to do my studies.. yeah i think thats a lazy habit :P but at least i wash them the next day. i heard some people left it there for months and they grow fungus or mushroom lolz

I very rarely do my dishes the same night I use them. Most of what goes in the dishwasher gets put in the next morning, or maybe the next night before dinner. The stuff that gets washed by hand gets done about once a week. I hate doing dishes!

My wife prefers to use the dishwasher, but I prefer to do them by hand. I usually wash what few I accumulate every couple of days or so...

yes, i wash those dishes regularly. so i do this more than three times in a day. i cannot wait for them to pile up high. it might cause breakage and everything is expensive these days. besides, dishes are easy to wash and clean. i just let them drip dry. it is said to be a better way of drying them rather than wiping. i understand that there are dish dryers already. we have one in our davao city residence. where we are now, we don't have one just yet. since you say that you only wash on saturdays, i am led to believe that you do not eat at home on weekdays.

Hi ronnyb! If I have my way, I will just use paper plates and paper cups so that I will just throw them away after use.. But that is quite expensive to do and I may be adding to the growing garbage around the world..So, I do wash the dishes and wash them every meal. I don't like it when the dishes piles up in the kitchen sink..it makes me feel I may not be able to finish washing if the plates piled up taller than me! Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith210

nope, we have some helpers who does those for us. I know how to wash dishes and i wash them when i have no one to wash them for me. i think its not that hard washing dishes, i think its even hard doing your own laundry than washing dishes. Well, lucky me that i dont have to do both because we have someone who do those things for us. I have heard that doing laundry could do some damage to the hands and it could also give people back pains. I would be nice if you have some washing machine for you to do your laundry but i think using washing machines could use up lots of water and i could consume lots of electricity. Well, just thing of it that you are lucky that you only have to do your dishes and not do your laundry because that could really be tiring.

Whenever I can't put it off any longer. Sometimes it's after a meal, most of the time I stick a movie in to make the pain a little less.

HI. Doing dishes lets see, when my daughter were younger and at home, I did them after we had our meals. Now that they are on there own, and its only me and my husband, I wait till the end of the day to do them, If i did dishes every time my husband ate, I would never get away from the sink. He can sure pile up the dishes, He would get a spoon for his coffee, and if he would want another cup he has to get a clean spoon, this is with everthing he eats, drives me nuts, and he will wait till i do the dishes. Lucky me. If he piles them up to much i put them in the dish washer.

Hi Ronny, Well I have to admit, I hardy do dishes ever. I have a machine for it. ;-) What I do wash immidiately after using, is my chef's knife. It's a proffessional knife, so I'm very carefull with it. All the other sruff that needs to be cleaned is usually put in the machine and that runs maybe twice a week.

I hate doing dishes, I just let them sit there till there's no more space left on the sink then I'll do them. I wish I had somebody to do them for me, they're sitting on my sink right now, and I really don't feel like doing them.

I hate washing dishes!!! And somehow I felt until I read some of the posts on this topic that I may be the only one in the world that does not have a dishwasher. I try to keep fowm plates and bowels in the house as to not have to dirty so many dishes each time we eat. There is 5 in the house, 3 are children and they can dirty dishes. They need a new cup for each time they get a drink and if they get one sandwich and decid a few minutes later to get another they wouldnt think twice about grabbing a new plate. Even with the foam plates and bowls it still seems they are capable of dirting alot of dishes. I dread everytime my husband says he is going to cook dinner, because although he cooks I still get to clean up and wash the excess amount of uneeded dirty dishes that he left. He is th type that will dirty 3 bowels untill he find the right size he wants. But I try to get it in my head to do the dishes daily after I manage to conquer them all LOL. But I fall of the wagon and they get pilled up for a few days untill there isnt anymore of a dish to use or they just bug me so bad that I cant take it anymore. I know my mom would be shaking her head at me at that responce, and say "I didnt raise you that way".

We're a family of seven, so I have to wash the dishes as soon as we're finished eating or we'll run out of things rather quickly (I only have eight plates, eight bowls, and eight of each utensil - and eight cups - you get the picture. hehe) If I had more room in my cabinets, I would have MUCH more so I could go one meal without having to rush right up to take care of the mess. It gets tiring!

i clean up after each meal i eat. i do have a dishwasher so i can put them in there till i have a load. sometimes if i have used a skillet i wash everything because i do not put my skillets in the dishwasher, don't like a messy kitchen.

Not enjoying doing dishes, I tend to use the foam plates & plastic forks during the week so I can just toss them out. On weekends, I use my regular dishes & wash them shortly after I eat.

Depends on where I am. If I am at home. than I usually wait a bit, but at school. Well, I do it right after eating. Can't stand the dirty plates lying around. :)

I always wash up as I go otherwise the dishes stink are impossible to get clean and not only that you get flies and it is horrible,I don't have a dishwasher if I did then I would put it on when it is full up.would be the end of the day,or evening and get the off peak electric.
