I would like to quote him but I forgot who he was... anyway he said "...Love is not a feeling. It is a will." I believe this is right. We choose to love or not love a person.

To me LOVE is the master key that open gates of happiness.Love strecthes your heart and makes you big inside. LOve as no awareness of merit or demerit; it has no scale to me. Love is like war; easy to begin hard to end. Love makes your soul crawls out from its hiding place.
Love is an act of forgiveness, a tender look which become an hebit. Friend this are what love meant to me. Thanks Mylotting

Love? It's quite hard to define. There are different kinds of love and people love differently.
There is one common denominator, though -- a person who loves wants the best for the one he or she loves. By "the best," I mean the ultimate good. However, "good" is a relative term. Our concept of goodness is based on our value system and our spiritual beliefs.
Another common denominator is love is unconditional and freely given. It's not something to be earned or bought. And real love is forever.
I often liken love to ice cream. There are different flavors of ice cream as there are different kinds of love. I was once deeply in love with a man. My love for him was dulce de leche (my favorite ice cream flavor). I had tons of love for him. Now, I still have tons of love for this person, only the kind of love has changed. My love for him is now vanilla. I don't love him any less, but the kind of love that I have for him has changed. He's more of a brother to me now.
I hope this makes sense.
