Pleasing the People.

How often do you get out of your way to please people? I used to be a maniac at this due to lack of confidence. Now I've realized that I am not invisible and have started to respect my own self. How far have you gone to please people for acceptance?

I used to be a people-pleaser. I got walked all over because of it, though, and I eventually grew a backbone and learned how to deal with people that would take advantage of your desire to please people.

When someone has been good to me and done something nice to me then I will do the same. With friends and family I try always to be that way anyway. As far as accetance I don't go over the line. I am me and think I am a nice person. I do what I can.

Good for you! I haven't yet built up the self-confidence to say no to people. I am a teacher but as well as teaching I am expected to fulfill the roles of 3 other people. It means that I am working about 15 hours a day and not sleeping because I am worried about everything that I haven't had time to do. I wonder sometimes whether I was put on this planet to work and be miserable!!
