Owning a dog

I want to own a dog but my mom says no until i learn how to treat my sister with car and all the mom stuff, anyway, i am thinking of adopting a dog (Labrador retreiver... sooooo cuteee!)and i want to know how to look after it and housetraining and all the stuff cos i don't know how to look after a dog since i never had a dog in my life before. Anyway, my dad will build a wooden doghouse for the dog but should i put anything inside it to make it comfortable (the dog bowls, sqeaky tog, treats, bone) Like its really cold in HK and my parents don't want the dog inside but i'm afraid it'll freeze (like only -5 degrees) I'm confused and i would be GLAD if anyone can give my LOTS and LOTS of advice on how to look after a dog. ] LOVE LABRADORS FOREVA!
