Everyday we are told another country has gone into rescion.
For months before this we have been told it's due to people above there means. And we have to cut back.
I guess I'm lie a lot of people, as one of the working poor, I've been living on so little for so long, there's nothing left to loose.
Don't worry about the cost of petrol, no car, some bus fares and walk a lot.
Haven't bought new clothes in 5 or 6 years. No big screen TV, or broadband, I'm still on cheap dial up.
I guess what I'm saying is there are a lot of people with nothing more to save money on.

My take on this is that you should make the most of what you have. People in Cuba have very little, yet they are a happy society. The shameful actions of the Western world lead us into enless consumerism. Buy now, pay later is all good and well, but it's much better to save up and pay for the things you want up front. That way you appreciate them more. You can't build up a huge debt and then say 'But I will pay it off eventually. This sort of thinking is harmful to the economy. It creates the impression of a strong economy when it's all illusory.
