So what do you think of Iron Man and what it could mean for Marvel?

As a kid, I used to absolutely love reading the Marvel comics. When the hype over the films started to increase in the 1990s with the emergence of the Spiderman films, I started to get even more excited, this time as an adult. So, when Iron Man came out last year, I was there like a shot to watch it, and wasn't disappointed.
The film itself is shot very well and, contrary to what was expected, this didn't give you a quick action style plot straight away, but more explained Iron Man's origins, with ridiculously rich weapons manufacturer Tony Stark having a bit of a moral wake up call, resulting in him creating a super suit designed to fly, fire and contain life support for his ailing heart.
The action does come, but not until later in the film, and it is breathtaking when it does. The special effects guys have really gone to town! But what was most exciting for me was the anticipation of future Marvel collaborations, with the promise of a number of interlinked films being released over the next 2 or 3 years, culminating in The Avengers being released as a film.
What this does for Marvel is set them a number of large projects that are publically announced, and sets the wheels in motion for one of the greatest sets of films ever made. We have already seen Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, both released in 2008, having links between them (at the end of each film, but I won't spoil it by telling you anything) and this is food for thought indeed. I for one am incredibly excited. What about you?

i thought this movie was by far the best movie about a super hero. i like it more than x-men, spiderman, and the others. i think it set the bar on how superhero movies should be. also, after seeing the incredible hulk i was pumped up at the end knowing that there will be more. i cant wait for captain america to come out next!
