Speed Dieting

I know most people try and avoid diets where you loose weight very fast, because in most cases you end up putting it back on again very quickly as well.
However, I've got a prom/ball type thing coming up, and I'd love to be a bit lighter for it. I really don't mind putting it back on again afterward (although obviously I'll try not to) as long as I'm a few pounds lighter for the day.
Can anyone recommend any quick-working diets?

The best, safest, and quickest diet, given to me by a cardiologist is easy and works: give up all of the whites - sugar, flour, rice, pasta, potatoes. More simply put, you can have fresh fruits, vegetables and meats.
Your food can be baked, broiled, boiled or sauteed. You are allowed 2 tablespoons of oil per day. Use this to sautee your meat and veggies in.
There is no measuring, no weighing. Just sensible eating. Limit your fruits to apples, oranges, half a banana. No watermelon, grapes, no juices, sodas, coffee or tea.
Limit your diet sodas.
If it is not listed above, don't do it. No ifs, ands or buts. Go easy on the carrots - they have sugar.
If you can add a little exercise in with this, then you will really see the pounds fall away, but even without it, it works. Do this and I promise you, you will be ready for your prom. And...you will feel great. You will be ready to dance the night away. This is quick, healthy and inexpensive.

PS you can add blueberries, strawberries, mangoes, and pineapple to your list of fruits. Keep the fruit servings small. Again, good luck.

Thanks!
That seems doable, and I really like fruit and veg anyway :)
Might have a bit of trouble giving up sugar though... I've got a real sweet tooth. Ah well, it'll only be for a little while. :)
And that explains why I like carrots so much, must be the sugar in them.
Apparently there's lots of fat in avocado, any ideas if that's true?

Yes. Avocado is high fat. No avocado while you are trying to do the quick loss. I love this plan. It is really simple. Rather than trying to use all of the commercial junk out there, just do the right thing. And when you want to splurge, do it. No harm. No foul. Then get back on track.
