Wrong Words or Phrases

Ever had someone say something completely wrong, a word or a phrase, but you just don't have the heart to correct them? I admit, there are some words out there, I've tried to pronounce or knew what I was saying, but actually didn't.. but I was corrected and now i know.. but what about the people that don't want to be corrected or if when corrected you are told you are wrong? lol. My husband and I had a friend, who would say things like... Escape-goat ~scapegoat~ It donged on me (no lie) ~it dawned on me~ All we could do was be silent, and laugh later, ha ha, it would make him so mad to be corrected!
