It was on 26th January 1950 India became a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic. Today, people of India are celebrating its 60th Republic Day.
India is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second-most populous country, and the largest democracy in the world. Bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the west, and the Bay of Bengal on the east, India has a coastline of 7,517 kilometers.
The Constitution of India, the longest and the most exhaustive constitution of any independent nation in the world, came into force on January 26, 1950. The preamble of the constitution defines India as a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic.India has a bicameral parliament operating under a Westminster-style parliamentary system. Its form of government was traditionally described as being 'quasi-federal' with a strong center and weaker states, but it has grown increasingly federal since the late 1990s as a result of political, economic and social changes.
I wish happy Republic Day to all Indian, in India and elsewhere in the world.

Am really happy about it.Being an indian,i feel very happy on this very special day. This is the day when new constitution has been framed for our nation.Am seriously looking upon our struggle to get our nation. It's a moment of pride for every indians. We may be of different religions and speaking of different languages but we have the same brotherhood feeling always. It is possible only for our nation. In our college,we hoisted our flag and sang our anthem and we started the day brighter than yesterday.Whatever work and tensions i have got,I have kept aside ma work and am totally free and enjoying myself today.Wishing all the indians "Happy Republic Day".
