Cause Of Atheism

This is spoken at the beginning of a DC Talk song, "What if I stumble", on their "Jesus Freak" CD.
"The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowlege Jesus with their lips then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyles. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable."

Well, I did not become an atheist due to the hypocrisy of some Christians. Their hypocrisy has caused resentfulness towards them, of course, but it's definitely not the reason I became an atheist. I suppose, however, that those of us who became atheists because we saw no logical reason not to be are in the minority.
I've noticed a trend in atheists, however. Older atheists (though younger ones like myself can sometimes fit into this category) tend to have become so because we simply saw no logical reason to believe in a God. However, I've noticed a lot of the younger atheists - kids between 13 and 20, who turn to atheism because they simply don't like Christianity, or hypocritical Christians. I've only noticed this trend in my personal dealings with other atheists, but I sincerely doubt my assumptions are accurate.
