Because it can turn into an addiction. Some people even make it more important then their families and children. It can put in debt so deep that you can lose everything that you own including your family. My aunt works at a casino and I've seen small children left in the daycare centers for up to 15 hours straight. This is neglect. Neglect is wrong. These poor kids just sit in a room with strangers, not even knowing where their parents are. There have been kids taken away from their parents because of it.

I don't think gambling is bad unless you have no self control. It can become dangerous if you don't realize how much money you are wasting. I go maybe two or three times a year (mainly when they have a concert I want to go to) and I take about $50 in. Half to gamble with, and half to buy T-shirts with. If I decide I don't like the T-shirts, I might spend the rest, but normally i don't. If I'm not having any luck at all, I just stop and grab a seat. I know my limits and when to stop. If everyone could do that, I don't think we would have as many problems.

You are correct in stating that gambling is a game. It is entertainment to a degree. Unfortunately, many people believe that gambling is a "sin" and it is a true habitual form of entertainment that can really hit hard in the wallet. Whether it being playing the Lottery, scratching off lottery tickets or hitting the casinos, an individual can truly become so addicted to gambling that it can cause irreversible damage to relationships, to the individual's psyche and even the individual's health. For many, many years, gambling has been related to the mob and one has to be careful when they walk through the doors of any casino. No one knows who is on the other side of that door.

Hi yxinxin! Gambling is a form of entertainment and I do believe that but it can also be bad and evil if one's gambling gets out of control. Like for instance, a father who gambles all his earnings and not even thinking where his family will get their food or if his children will have money to study, that for me is bad. A teacher of mine once told me that gambling your finances uncontrollably will make you and your family suffer. That is true because most gamblers even gamble their life savings and properties leaving them nothing in the end. I think that everything should be done in moderation and if you gamble excessively, you might be risking your life too because many gamblers have a lot of debts and their creditors are sometimes bad people too who will kill or hurt anyone who will not pay them. Another teacher of mine says gambling can be addictive, you just start by trying to pass the time, entertaining yourself and before you know it, you get hook. So better not to gamble at all if you have no self control. Just a thought!
Take care and have a great day!

Gambling is addicting. Some people reach the point of giving up their family and their possessions just to continue this form of entertainment that gives them short-term happiness and life-long destruction.
