He's a shock-fiction author, and I think he likes pushing the envelope. One of his books, Haunted, had extreme subject matter and yet he kept it really simple and really enjoyable. I couldn't believe I finished that book in one sitting! I also like his novel, Lullaby. I'm interested to learn The Culling Song. Haha. Pahlaniuk remains to be one of my favorite authors. What do you think of this guy's works? Discuss.

I've read Haunted, but I wasn't very impressed to be honest. I thought some of the short stories in it were really good, but the overall story that pulled them all together was really lacking.

The way he narrated the story in Haunted reminded me of Chaucer's writing style. What stories did you like the most in that particular book? I really thought the story by Chef Assassin was good. I think it was entitled "Product Placement". I also liked the three-part story about Cassandra. Yeah, the main story's not very cohesive, I guess. But I liked the way he told the stories within the story.

For me the problem wasn't really that it wasn't cohesive, I just thought it was kind of dumb. It has been so long since I read it I don't remember which of the stories I really liked I just remember that there were a few I enjoyed!

I have never read any of his books. I always looked for them in the library and they never had any in...then last week I was looking through the shelves and I saw one and checked it out. It is the book Rant. I haven't started reading it yet, but I'm hoping it will be good. Everyone always talks about how great his writing is so I'm excited to check it out.
