Earlier i was using router. Later it gave problems and didn't work so i replaced it with an adsl modem.
I think it is easy with a router because i don't need to manually connect every time i connect to the internet.
What are you using...router or modem?

I have lovely dialup so my computer used the modem. We cannot get ADSL in my area right now but the other things are so very expensive also. It works for me for now.

Hello there!
Right now, I am using a modem from Motorola. Our router got bad so I am looking to replace it next month, I just don't have the time to buy and install it at home. I just shared my internet from my main computer to other computers in case they want a simultaneous connections. It is really good. Good thing when just using a modem, you will have a direct connection to the internet and y ou will know that the modem has disfunction when you lose the connection but I still prefer to have a router at home so that multiple computers can connect to it plus it has wireless connection as well.
Have a great day! Thank you for the discussion. Happy Mylotting! Cheers!

i'm using a router as it is easier to use if the internet connection is used for several pc's.
i used to have a modem, but even the fact that there's a cable and a box attached to the pc, is not very handy when using a laptop.
of course, if you have only 1 desktop, hence not sharing the connection, a modem maybe a better choice.
