President Obama told GOP leaders Saturday that he has the votes to do anything he desires and if they didn't like it that was just too bad! Sounds like a little rich kid with a brand new football jumping up and down screaming "I will be quarterback or I will take my ball and go home."
He also, according to the following article, made some derisive remarks about Rush Limbaugh. In the future, history will prove that Rush is right and no one can spend their way out of a recession, much less the depression Obama's "stimulis" package will cause. Here is the article:

So I guess the Washington Post is telling lies now? As far as Rush, more people listen to him than you can possibly imagine and that goes for those who disagree with him as well! Rush Limbaugh ROCKS!

SO basically he is telling the Republicans to sit back, shut up and go along for the ride.
So much for his "bipartisanship" that he has been calling for. I guess he thinks "unity" means "agree with me".
I was worried about this. He is not going to listen to the republican ideas. He knows what he wants to do and he is going to do it. Sounds like "my way or the highway".
All this coming from a man who says he wants to unite the country and usher in a new era of bipartisanship. See I told you no one in washington (now including the new president) know the meaning of the word bipartisan. THis is just more of the same and not "change". One side forcing through their ideas and not listening to the other side. I am soo tied of this....no matter what side it is coming from.

Funny you would use the title you used here; ironically, the words you used were pretty close to what Bush reportedly used to tell his brothers and cousins as a child when they all played together at family gatherings. It was the classic "I'll take my ball and go home" attitude which I think he carried with him into adulthood. Even if Obama had said what you claim he said and meant it seriously how is that any worse than Bush's "I've earned a lot of political capital and I'm going to spend it" remark of 2004? As for "derisive remarks about Rush Limbaugh", Obama didn't fire first there.

I would agree with you completely Anniepa. However, when Bush did this, there was not a peep of complaint from the Republicans only defense.

Obama is bluffing, trying to twist the arms of GOP leaders to get his way. There are several moderate democrats who are not on board with his plans. If he is so sure of getting his way, why all the tough rhetoric to try and intimidate the opposition?

When President Bush was in, he did comment much if at all on what news commentators or radio hosts said. Everyone had a right to their opinion. With Obama, no way. He tries to opress the people and squash their opinion. He is frightening. Are we really free to express ourselves without being arrested or worse? I don't know.

Obama's position is clear. He has his super majority. Harry Reid is trying to force Franken on the senate now to keep their lead despite the fact that the election in Minnesota is not over yet. His my way or the highway crap has to end. If he keeps trying to ram things through without input from the Republicans in congress then they need to stage a revolt and vote against every piece of crap he's pushing. If that's not enough to filibuster than they can at least say they made their voices heard and are in no way to blame for his totalitarian government.
