My father seem to think so too! He always says "Dogs are animals! you don't have to clean that cage so often"
Men!
I think that men are so filthy they don't even notice their stibnk sometimes.
But some men are bette than others of course!

dogs have emotions i believe as demonstrated by my own pets. one time i had to get home early for work because of terrible migraine. i had to run to the bedroom and lie down and i was crying of the pain. my dog immediately jumped up the bed (which he can't reach most of time since he's a small shih tzu) and immdiately licked my face and lay down beside me.
they have also expressed fear when they know they did something wrong and about to be scolded, they expressed sneaky-ness, not coming when being called, they walk away slowly and then i see they are chewing on something.
dogs also express emotions towards their own kind. they play, they laugh, they fight when they are being bothered.
they also express sadness when espcially my shih tzu who gets moody in the morning, he hides under the bed sometimes and doesn't come out when we are about to leave for work. one time i had to go on a business trip and my husband said the dogs kept running around looking at the door, or shifting on my side of the bed, smelling my pillow they wonder why i am not there.
they are complex creatures really. and are so interesting and fun to have.

I have had dogs all of my life and I know they have emotions. They sense when you aren't feeling well, when you are down. When I am sick or sad my dog comes and lays down next to me and won't leave. My dog also understands what someone is saying to him. If you tell him to go to bed he goes and lays down in his bed. Dogs are like humans in some ways, they have feelings.

Oh, for crying out loud! He's a man and some men claim not to have emotions. Dogs are creatures, just like your husband. Animals are more in tune with emotions and people than most people are. Is this your husband's first association with dogs? When a pet's owner leaves for trips or passes away, the pet sulks and misses the owner. Just slap your husband's hands and tell him you're smarter than he, because you are.

HI. I believe dogs have feelings. Look at when they do someting bad, and you would yell and tell them no. How they stop and give you the sad look, or stop doing it. Or when you playing with them how there tails wag. When they get hurt, they cry. I would say they have feelings.

hi bamakelly
all animals and living beings even plants have emotions.
it's scientifically proven by an indian scientist.
so dogs definitely have emotions. my parents have a doggie and her name is
nicky. I was away when they brought her as a puppy. After a year when i came home
she was so jealous of me because her love was being shared.
and she had dislike for our grandma too.

I feel that dogs do have and show emotions. They can show love, hate, and protectiveness. They are emotional and can feel when we are as well.

dogs do have emotions, they also can sense emotions, the research is coming out all the time about that.

I've had many dogs in my time and definitely believe that they have feelings and emotions. We always hear about them saving people from drowning or in a fire and I think that proves it.

Your husband is wrong, dogs do have emotions. They can be happy and sad just like us. They pout, too. What is wrong with your husband that he can't recognize joy in the eyes of a dog when the owner returns or disappointment when nobody will play? Your husband doesn't sound like someone I would like much.

Animals, at least mammals, do have emotions. They may not have self awareness or long term memories, but emotional things definitely affect them and they can show emotion.

I agree with you. Dogs have all kinds of feelings and yes I think they can sense the feelings of people around them. When I was younger we had a dog and it seemed to be able to sense my feelings all the time. I would talk to him when I was sad or mad and he seemed he would cry right along with me. There was this person that I really hated and my dog also really hated him too. Was it a coincident? I don't think so. I think they can sense the way a person is.

I know they can sense emotions. My dog is overly protective of me if I have a bad dream at night. He knows when I'm feeling down, cause then he's really affectionate. He's not an affectionate dog by nature. Prefers to be left alone.
Mine is not sociable! When we first got him, he'd sleep as far from us as possible. Not scared. He doesn't like to be petted, until he wants it. (He's a reincarnated cat, I think) He'll pet me by rubbing his head on my legs. But if I pet him when he doesn't want it, which is a lot, he gives me this dirty look and stalks off.

Dogs have always interested me and I've always been able to speak to my dogs as through they were people. They've expressed empathy, sympathy, happiness, excitement, sadness, and fear in their own ways. When I've talked to them, I could tell they were listening and some of the words I'd say would evoke certain emotions without my needing to change the pitch of my voice. I love that about dogs. So, I don't think think I agree with your husband.
