As a kid, like most of us i was always amazed at the stars, stretching my imagination from the pictures of heaven, aliens attacking us , looking for the shooting star to imagining if i could ever be an astronaut. Over the years this changed to is there life out there , the question of how really large is this universe and the possibility that man will one day live in space. What's going in your mind when gaze up at the heavens above ?

Looking high up at the stars gives me an do not know to express kinda feeling. Its a feeling of unknowns, joy - an ecstatic unworldly pleasure! its something undefined, a feeling of drowning into the depth of deep sky and dissolving in its timeless beauty. The moon is still the lady weaving cloth is a wheel and the stars are still our departed loves ones and the meteors the dreams come true. I would like to think the way I have been forever. The sky is a fairy tale where the angels still live. No science, no technology, no conjectures further. My mouthful of sky is my world full of enticing dreams, my hopes to live and get going. Throwing a handful of stars at you, catch if you can.....

I'm still catching them ... I'm just lost in the way you have put it and it would not be wrong if i say i'm seeing some stars in my head right now. Really it's great and it's always an outwordly experience. Thanks for this.

Keep catching. That's essentially what we do when we gaze at them, don't we? And we all wish to catch the most glittery of them lightyears away for helping us live our dreams...

How very true. We catch some and some we don't. But we keep trying as living for our dreams is what makes this life so meaningful.

A de3ep look at the heavens and stars will always make me dumbfounded and belittled.I feel just nothing and worse than a speck of a meaningless dust in front the magnitude and greatness of the universe in all sense. It is always incomprehensible for my small mind.Everything becomes meaningless before the endless heavens.I always feel that someone is always having the last laugh at us from there up above the world so high.

If I were to look up to the nught sky these days and actually SEE stars, I think I would be in shock! lol. Unfortunately the air here in Cairo is way too polluted to see the night sky clearly and I would have to travel outside of the city if I wished to see stars. Back when I COULD see the night sky clearly, my mind tends to wander in a similar way to the examples you gave yourself. I think about what may be out there, will I see a shooting star, where might certain planets be, is it possible for me to see a satellite etc. I have always had an interest in Ufology as well, so many things related to this go through my mind also.

The polluted air part is sad James. Who knows you just may get to see a shooting star or a satellite one day, or even aget abducted by one of those ufos'. Thanks

I'm very fond of science fiction, so my imagination people the stars with extra-terrestrials. Sometimes I also imagine that the stars are the abode of loved ones who have gone ahead. When imagination fails, wonderment and wishful thinking take over.

When I was a child, I use to stare at them and think about how I wanted one haha. I loved they way they looked and I use to give them names. Now when I look up at them, I think of my boyfriend. The stars remind me of freckles, and my boyfriend has the cutest ones. Also I wonder how far in there galaxy the stars go out. If you can only see them from earth. Or if you can see them all the way from Pluto as well.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing goes through my mind and it's the best feeling in the world. When I was in HS I used to go to a local park if I was stressed and just stare off into the sky for a good 30 minutes or so and just think about nothing. Talk about taking a load off, it was phenomenal.

Star gazing is one of my favourite hobbies. Whenever there is a clear sky and I get the opportunity, I go to my roof top and just enjoy gazing uncountable stars in the sky. When I was a kid, I would think how could I reach the stars or moon one day, would there be an aeroplane or satellite or something like that which would give me an opportunity to see stars. Shinings stars always give me kind of great enjoyment and I keep wondering where do they go in the day time..........LOL! In metro cities, due to excess lighting everywhere, it becomes difficult to see the night sky full of stars. However, if one goes to a rural area and an open field and if there is complete darkness around and one happens to see the night sky, it gives awesome feeling and stars look very near and shining more brightly. V. Good Post!

Yes Deepak, It's so true that we cannot get to enjoy the view of the night sky so much from the urban areas and the view for the hilltops and the rural areas is beautiful. It is awesome sight. Thanks

Gazing up at the starry night skies always make me feel content and at peace. I do not really know what I am thinking. I think this is one of those moments when you just follow one star from the other and just let all your worldly thoughts go.

When i look up at the stars i think of my friends and wish they were with me at the moment to enjoy the night and talk about things. I also imagine i'm some place else where i'd like to be. When i look at the vast sky i wish all my problems could disappear into it. I also start thinking how our earth is divided into countries and different territories while the sky is simply one big mass without boundaries
