Tell me what you think are the top five television series of all time. I'm going to lay out my choices for all to see below; Rome (HBO) Stargate SG1 (Showtime/SciFi) The Wire (HBO) Battlestar Galactica (SciFi) Sopranos (HBO) Not necessarily in that order. There are so many good show to watch now. I've heard many recomendations from my friends and family and I can't even keep up. But I'll keep watching the good ones, only the good ones. Sopranos The most famous of my pics. When this show first started I thought it was a great idea. A weekly drama about mobsters. There have been others since, like King Pin (2003 NBC), Very good! Short lived, but none have captured the imagination of the viewing public like Tony Soprano and family. Battlestar Galactica A new treatment on a very popular series from the '80s. When the original aired in 1978 I was blown away. This was the first television show to use cinamatic special effects. The 2 hour series premier was stunning. With cutting edge special effects technology the new Battlestar Galactica uses the same premice but takes the action and drama to a new level. Well done on all levels! The Wire This is a modern day Cops and Robbers drama set in Baltimore. 5 seasons cover the hole city from top to bottom. From the Mayor, police comissioner on down the ranks, drug lords on down to the children selling on the street corners, international drug connection coming in thru the dock union workers, newspaper reporters and editors, teachers and good people all trying to make a difference in their own way. I couldn't put it down, watched the whole thing twice. Rome Rome was on HBO and lasted two seasons and I sure wish they would go for #3. Set in ancient Rome in the time of Julius Ceasar, they've really captured the seedy/hedonistic/superstitious side of the story. Mainly about a mid to high level centurion and his family and friends this series is a very dramatic coverage of all of Rome and all it's ups and downs at that time. Excelently done, I plan to watch it all over again next. Stargate SG1 I have to quote Richard Dean Anderson 'We have the best prop on TV'. Yes it's true, they do. This show went 10 seasons! That's right 10 seasons, and there is a spin off. (Stargate Atlantis) It started with a movie starring Kurt Russel and James Spader back in 1994. The movie is excelent and the TV series takes off where the movie ends. In my opinion a very realistic and plausible science fiction/space travel premice. I've watched all of it a couple times at least and I'm going to try to find the time to watch all 10 seasons all in a row. Wish me luck! There ya have it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Here are 5 more that I watch that didn't make the top 5; True Blood (HBO) 24 (FOX) Firefly (FOX) Deadwood (HBO) Should have made the top 5 Weeds (Showtime) definately should have made the top 5 Comments? Observations? Anyone? Bueler? Bueler? :?)

There are just so many that I have loved and been dedicated to, I cannot pick 5 straight out. I will pick my 5 favorite comedies that have since gone to rerun heaven. (#1)Friends (#2)Cheers (#3)MASH (#4)Golden Girls (#5)Family Ties I have several current favorites as well (#1) Big Bang Theory (#2) How I met Your Mother (#3) Two and a Half Men (#4) Samantha Who? I'll leave it at that, but I could name so many more past and present that I have enjoyed. Then there are the dramas, and the dramadies.... Yep, just too many to choose from.
