Scent of Flowers

A few months ago my mom and I walked into a flower shop to order flowers for a funeral we had to attend. The scent brings back so many childhood memories of when I was a little kid and my grandmother working at a flower shop. It's strange because many of my relatives have worked in a flower shop. My mom at one point in her life managed one in town. She didn't lose her job at the flower shop, the owner had sold the shop and moved to Hawaii. Now a have a close friend who is getting grants to own a flower shop, which is really cool! I'm in hopes that when my close friend gets all her stuff in order may be she'll hire my mom so that I can go in and relive the memories of my dear grandmother. Not sure if my mom should be working though; she broke her foot two years ago and has all sorts of problems now.

it is funny how certain professions can keep coming back into your life, chocolate makers keepn popping up in mine, my great grandmother was a chocolate maker then my aunty was a chocolate maker for a big company many years later, she used to bring a big bag of broken bits to us when we were kids and then many years later my neice got a job in a gourmet chocolate shop making handmade chocolates, i find it very interesting how this happens, and i know what you mean about the aroma of the flower shops it is really lovely.

The cold and damp of the flower shop might make her aches and pains worse, but there are a lot of things she could do in one, sitting down. It is funny how our memory is triggered by scent.
