Is technology robbing us of spirit?

Are we slowly becoming lazy people who have missed the finer things in life? Will we be able to live the same life we have now without technology? Is it even possible that in the future we will become those people from Wall-E?
With the question of robbing us of spirit: I think it is.
How about you, what do you think?

^_^ Howdy!.... inkyuboz!....
To eliminate that Wall-E dilemma. The best way thing to do is to master the self-discipline of time management. Master a discipline of day to day routines. Have schedule to take a break or make a seasonal break-time. Make a day with no computers or cellphone but may be just an iPod...lol..... or without iPod...lol... or just be with yourself, your family or pets in a day.
Take exercise and learn to meditate. Have a space to learn more knowledge and wisdom.
^_^ Thanks!.... and Enjoy!....

Exactly.
I'm only 22 but I remember years ago the only technology we had was the "Family Computer" or for the Americans they call it the NES. As a kid, I spend at least an hour or two playing video games but the rest of the day is spent playing hide and seek or tag with my childhood friends.
I don't get to see children playing those street games anymore. All they know now is DoTA, Yahoo Messenger and Facebook. They've been robbed of their childhood! Sad...

In one sense, we can say yes, technology is making human more and more comfortable and every day, the physical work by human being is reducing since the use of modern day gadgets.
But I don't think there will be a day when humans will become like those men as shown in Wall-E. Because man is becoming very health cautious these days. We do have obesity as an emerging disease these days, but we do have people like Nicolas Cage, Daniel Craig, Aamir Khan who proudly show their 6pack abs.
I think the awareness towards health will definitely increase with time, so we don't need to worry about any situation as depicted in the movie!!

You are completely, or at least mostly, correct.
why write someone a letter, or give someone a call, when you can just shoot them a cold, impersonal (usually illegible) email?
or leave them a quick comment on Facebook?
More and more I see people spend all their free time on electronics.
Now, don't get me wrong, i love electronics, and gadgets, and playing video games.
But- i also love hanging out with friends, and talking walks, and going on random late night adventures with no more than 15 dollars, and a close friend.
People are missing out on life, and their addiction (due to laziness) to electronics and technology, are contributing heavily.
It's a shame.
