I do use hair brush on my hair before but when one of my hair conscious friend told me that hair brush is not good for the hair for it will damage it and sometimes it is a cause of hair breakage, I stopped using hair brush. I have lots of hair brush gifts from my friends but I no longer use it instead I gave it away. I don;t know why I easily believe when people said something about hair care? I am conscious of my hair because it is the crowning glory of a lady. I really appreciate beautiful and silky hair. The reason why I am trying my best to keep my hair from damage that I do everything people say to care for the hair.. hahaha What about you? do you care or just never mind? whatever? Lol..

Hi friend, the reason why brushing the hair with a brush damages the hair is that it usually increases the hair fall since after bath your hair usually have tangles. It would be best to use a comb with with bristle for this helps untangle the hair. No matter what the length of my hair is i usually use a wide teeth comb so that it prevents hair fall. I only use a brush when my hair is totally dry and free of tangles. Have a great day.

When my hair is still wet, I use wide-toothed comb while drying it to avoid breakage. I only use the brush when I am already styling it to get some curls. Brushing it will still wet will really cause breakage. Like you I am so conscious of my hair so I do regular hot oil and trimming. When our hair is glowing and healthy, it reflect that we also have healthy body.

wow!!! regular hot oil!! that's wonderful my friend. When I was yet there, I also have that regular visit to my hair dresser but when I arrived here? I don't like to spend my $100 just for hot oil in which I can do it myself without sepnding that much. I just use olive oil after washing my hair and then straighten it whenit is already dry. I am not using blower but I use iron hahahaha... same,, but I like what you said, using brush whilr styling? that is great when your hair is wavy. I have a naturaly wavyhair but I don't like it so, I straighten it using flat iron.. Lol

My dear olive oil here is quite expensive, I am only using that in my cooking and salad. By the way, is it the same oil that you use in your hair. The extra-virgin olive oil we use in the kitchen? Maybe I should try once!

I never brush my hair while it is wet. Your hair is the most sensitive when it is wet, and you have to be gentle with it. I always use a wide tooth comb to comb out the tangles when my hair is wet. I also use a product called silk drops, which makes it easy to comb after shampooing. I will use a brush after my hair is dried. Brushing is good for your hair, because the brush stimulates the blood flow in your scalp, which promotes hair growth.

I do not use a hair brush until my hair is pretty much dry. I towel dry very well before I use a brush. I use very good hair products so when my hair is nearly dry I will brush it. I love to when it is freshly clean. So nice.

Silky and bouncy. Very nice and healthy hair. Then again, i start to use the product but i did not see the effect yet.lol

I've heard brushing your hair when it's wet is a bad thing, but you can easily comb your hair when it's still wet and it won't damage it. Hairdresser do this aswell. They use combs with wide, big teeth to seperate the hair and detangle it. Blowdrying is one of the worst things for you hair if you do it often, or so I have heard.

I don't use a hair brush to brush my hair, I use one when I'm blow drying it out. I mostly use a hair pick, because my hair is wavy, and if I used a brush, it would frizz it all out and it can cause breakage and split ends. I consider my hair as my crowning glory also, I never go out without fixing it, and I visit my hair dresser frequently and keep it trimmed all the time, thats just what I've always done, as long as I can remember, I like having healthy hair, and keeping it healthy.

when my hair is wet? NOOO don't brush it. You will drop more hair that way. I normally just allow my hair to air dry. Sit under a ceiling fan and let it dry slowly. I've learnt to not use the hair dryer too often (unless in a rush). The hot air will frizz up your hair. And when your hair is wet, somehow the pores are bigger and your hair is softer and easily breakable. Hence a little tug or pull will cause more hair than usual to fall off.

I was always fussy very my hair. It used to be a very dark brown with a few natural red highlights. I wore my hair to my waist. Really a crowing glory. Now that I am mature I wear it short but it is still thick and glossy despite being coloured. I don't use a brush on my hair when it is wet but I do brush it daily so hole on to your brushes.

Well, it was discussed here that using hair brush on hair while wet can damage your hair. I hope you read all the responses in here so that you can get ideas why. thanks for your response.

You're not suppose to brush your hair when it's wet as it causes breakage. Wait until you hair is try and then brush it. Blow dryers are also a cause of breakage as well so you might just want to wash your hair before you go to bed then in the morning brush it and style it however. I straigten my hair.

I use the comb on wet hair, though what your cousin says is absolutely correct. Every time I comb my wet hair, I always lose handful of tresses. However, if I keep the wet hair all tangled then it will dry out that way and I will look a complete mess! So I have to comb it while wet so that once it dries up, it looks nice and straight.

I think we can comb our wet hair without occuring damage by using a wide tooth comb not a brush. thanks.

I use a wide toothed comb most of the time and comb it when wet and dry. I use a brush for tangles. My hair is one of the things I am rarely happy with...so I don't really care if it does cause some damage. My hair is wavy, really thick, and hard to get to look nice because it likes to do what it wants to do rather then what I want it to do. I can't imagine never brushing my hair though...it would be a rat's nest pretty quick!

I brush my hair when it's wet only to brush it up. But that just takes a few strokes, yet it still breaks my hair. I brush my hair only an hour after I shower, 'cause that's the time it's finally totally dry. I don't have to worry damaging it or whatever anymore.

People do mind about my hair. Probably because it's just too gorgeous for them to see. LOL. I've had nightmares with scalps all over my hair. It is necessary for me dry my hair and brush them smartly because everyday I'll wear helmets to work. I'm a motorcyclist. When the time I got there, my hair is all messed up again. haha.. Hair gel's are a must for male especially motorcyclists.

I do use a hair brush but on while my hair are wet. I have heard that damaged is caused exactly when you brush your hair when they're wet. Not so much when they are dry. It's important to use professional hair brush with soft setas. I personally use a comb which massages my head while I am brushing my hair. To keep healthy hair (specially if they're long), it's important to massage your head's skin to stimulate hair growing, and brushing hair is on of the easiest ways to massage your head's skin. Just be patient and do it slow with round motions.

Oh!! thanks for sharing your experience. I think you are right!! use brush when hair is dry not wet. I believe also about that massaging that it is good for stimulating the growth of your hair.

i use a conditioner which also acts like detangler for me so i don't mind combing wet hair but make it a point to use a wide toothed comb.
