Sometimes I have left over after I finished my meal. I would save them in the fridge for tomorrow. I never throw away food. Or I can say very rarely only when I really dislike the smell or something. How about you? what do you think about throwing the left over away? Personally I think it is very wasting. We should finish the meal on the day best cause theu are not healthy if we save them I know. But what if it is too much to finishe it today?

One year I had Thanksgiving dinner at my friends house and her family does not eat leftovers at all. I was asked if I could stay and help clean up and when I went into the kitchen my friends mom was dumping half a turkey and stuffing in the garbage can. Someone had brought a cake and there was only 1 piece cut out and she tossed it in the garbage because she didn't want it. I was asked to take out the garbage and I was appalled because there was so much good food that was just thrown away without a second thought. After I saw the shocking moment, I said that in the future I could take their extra food if they didn't want it. Then to top it off, the mom wanted cleanup to be easy so she used disposable everything, you should have seen the number of aluminum cans that were stuffed into their garbage can had to be at least 3 cases. It was so disgusting being there around all that waste no wonder their 5 garbage cans overflow every week.

Look food should not be throwed because look many who have to eat throw it but think about all those who suffer not having something to eat that is messed up in a way cuz many would love to eat their leftovers not throw them away

I think it is a waste of money to threw it out myself unless like you said if it will go bad if it isn't eaten or if it has mayonaise in it and it has gone sour then of course throw it out but if it is still good and can be reheated then way not.

I will save food in the frig. if we don't finish it the first night when I cook it. But I am almost never the one to eat it the next day. I don't like leftovers all that much and my husband loves them so I leave it for him.

hello lovesummer do i throw my food away? no, no food here gets thrown away, i put away all of the leftovers if we have any for the night for somebody in the family to enjoy eating the next day but if by some chance that nobody eats the leftovers then i try warming the food up and serving it to our dog. then if it is some kind of leftovers that the dog will not eat like beans or something like that, then i will throw things like that away on trash day. take care and have a beautiful evening.

I dislike throwing away food as I fill as though it is wasteful also. Left over food I try to eat before it spoils if not I will regretfully throw it away, it's bad and I nor anyone else is ever going to eat it so no need to keep it.

Most food can go to good use. If you have some meat and maybe potatoes left over, they can be for tomorrow's breakfast by putting them in an omlet, or scramble them with some eggs. I usually don't just throw good food away. I always have some stray dogs hanging around my house from time to time and I will give it to them, but mostly I will re-use it in some way or another unless I am very tired of it, then it goes to the dogs, and if the dogs don't want it, there's always the opossums or racoons out there who eats it.

Hi lovesummer I don't throw food, unless it is spoiled. Normally,If the food can not be finished the same day,we preserve them in a fridge and eat the next day. Food is an essential thing which many people in the world could not afford to have three times a day. In some functions like marriages, people waste lot of food.Only some good people send the remaining food to a charity organization,to feed the orphans etc. So even if you are affluent,I think, you should not throw the food. Either you preserve it for the next day or feed some hunger people wandering around(beggers). In my view, wasting food is an offense. Happy mylotting.

My husbands loves pets so we have a cat and a big dog to finish some of our left overs, some of the food, we put in the fridge for quick breakfast in the morning. I don't like food to spoil also, its a waste of money so we usually try to cook just enough for the family to finish

I personally love leftovers, so I would be keeping the food and eating it again at a later time or making a different meal out of the leftovers. There is so much you can do with leftovers to doctor them up to make them taste different or better.

We never throw away food unless the food has gone bad. Leftovers are fine with us. Some food can last longer than others so we finish the ones that will go bad faster. But I guess normally it's about planning before cooking / buying so we don't waste food.

Depending on what I cook, I either cook enough for one meal or enough for several. With cooking any type of noodles with the exception of lasagna I only cook exactly how much I need. I wont eat leftover pasta. It looses it's texture and is horrid. Lasagna is good reheated. In fact it's better the next day. Other cooked foods I make several days worth and refrigerate what isn't eaten. When cooking for company, I make way to much and send care packages home with the guests and save a bit for the next day. I don't want my guests to go hungry. When I cook just for family I know exactly how much we will eat. If it is beans or another food that takes a long time to cook, I will make extra for another meal or two or three, but it's not really leftovers. It's saving cooking time and energy by making enough for several days. With salads, I try to make exactly how much is needed. Tomato loose their texture if cut and not eaten or if refrigerated. If for some reason I don't finish what's on my plate, I give it to one of my fur kids. This is assuming there are no onions in it. If it has onions, they can't eat it and I'm forced to either refrigerate it or toss it down the garbage disposal.

In a family of five we really do not have or should I say can not afford to throw away anything. If we have a reasonable amount of leftover we will normally eat if for dinner the next night. If it is a little the kids will finish it off when they come home from school. Rarely does anything ever gets thrown away in our house.

I don't. Considering that there are lots of people who suffers from hunger in the world. For me, food is something that we should be thankful because not all of us are lucky to have one because of the global crisis that we are facing nowadays it's better to save the food that we have and give thanks that you have food on you table every meal. Everytime that we have leftovers,we don't throw it bu instead, my mom is thinking of the ways on how we can eat that food again. In short she recycle those left overs so that it canno be wasted. Well, having food is very important knowing that in other part of the world, there are people who are suffering from hunger that they eat whatever they had found even garbages, they eat such so that they will no longer feel the hunger that they are feeling. So for you guys out there that has plenty of food on their dining table, dont forget to pray and give thanks to God that you have such.

There are two things you should keep in mind when it comes to saving food or throwing food away. Make sure it won't turn bad and keep it in a proper place, and never eat food just because it's a shame to throw it away when you are allready full. I was taught never to throw away food and therefor you should finish your plate. If you are allready full, you will eat unneccesairly and your stomache will get used to that and keep asking for more. Before you know it (when done daily on a regular basis) you are taking in too much calories daily and have become adjusted to it. This is one of the things that can slowly slither into a bad eating habit and obesity. I try and save food whenever I can and use small portions to make sure I don't have to throw anything away. If I want more I can allways go and dish up more or make more without having to decide whether or not I have to throw it away.

I seldom throw away leftover food. I feel it is wasteful and it costs us money when we indulge in such wastage. We try and reheat the leftovers at the next meal instead. On the other hand, we also plan our meals such that we buy and cook only the appropriate amount and aim to finish everything we cook during mealtime. In that way, we minimize leftovers except once or twice a week.

Whenever there is something left, I either bring it to work for lunch the next day or make something else out of it for dinner the next night. If it lasts longer than that, the same process can apply. If it isn't something that's going to be finished that soon, or I'm just not in the mood for it, it either goes into the freezer or I put it in the refrigerator at work. Thing in the fridge will be eaten by someone, and I'd rather have them eat the leftovers than somebody's lunch. It's not because of the economy; some people, and nobody seems to know who they are, steal others' lunches all the time, and I've never found leftovers I put in there still there the next day.

I try not to. I will let food stay in the fridge for 2 days after that it goes to the doggies. I know don't feed the dogs table scraps oh well they like it every now and then :) I very rarely make anything to have major left overs to begin with. With three kids in the house left overs are a rarity.

if i dont finish my food, i normally save it for another day. however, after it's been in the fridge for about a day i normally throw it away. if i don't eat it the next day, then it'll stay there for a few more days.
