Hello everyone!
We are considering to have a new pet in the family but we are divided, half want dog, the other half want cat...
What do you prefer? Personally, I would have liked a Labrador dog...

I would get both, just make sure you get a puppy and a kitten so they grow up together and dont fight. also do some reaserch about both if you have never had either before so that you know waht to prepare for.

i like both. i would get one of each, but try to teach them to get along. so far, i have a cat. i dont know when in the future i will be getting a dog, whenever my cat is comfortable enough to handle a new addition to the family without freaking out because it is a dog.

you have to consider where you're living in. like us, we live in a condo, we can't have a cat as it may jump out of the balcony! also consider their temperments. dogs are more attention seeking and "people-persons" and most cats (not all!) tend to want some alone time, seek you out only when their hungry or need something.
it depends how much attention you may want to give it too. i especially recommend you adopting a pet. it's like saving another life. good luck!

There is no reason to think that a dog and a cat both acquired as kitten and puppy would fight. Many dogs and cats love each other dearly. If you can only have one, I would recommend a pair of cats. Cats provide companionship that is beyond compare. Cats don't bark at a squirrel on the other side of the country; cats don't need to go out in the rain, sleet or snow to tend to business; cats don't slobber all over you; cats usually don't jump on you.
No dog ever curled up in your lap and purred. No dog every purred you to sleep. Cats come to you for more than food. My 4 cats come when they are called. I wouldn't live without a cat or more.

well if i were you ,i would buy a dog..a dog is more faithful and is like a human security alarm..besides that they are easier to take care of and they love you like children ..you just need to show love...I don't have any experience with cats so i don't know how cats are as pets.....

Both can be wonderful pets. I personally think dogs are better for young families and cats better for older ones. Whichever you decide on, be sure to give your pet a lot of love and attention. If you love them, they'll love you back and pets love unconditionally.

I would go for a dog as a pet.We have a black Labrador named Lucas. He is very cuddly.Their also very useful with regards to watching your house during the night or while everybody's out unlike cats, they prefer to be alone.
