Is family planning one way of solving the economic recession?

I was reading some news online when I came upon the news that Pres. Obama approved of family planning among couples. I think that it would be a practical approach to solve population explosion and eventually poverty. Couples should know how to implement planning their children. What about you, what's your take on this?

Yes, family planning is a good way to tide over recession. Less popoluation would mean less resources. People need to become aware about it and should work in this direction. Many people of current generation only go for one child or at the most two children, as they know that it is too expensive to bring up a child.

Three is ideal for me. I agree that less population would be less expensive. Thanks and cheers.

Two or three kids are alright and one can manage them easier than bringing up 5-6 children.

I agree completely with this plan cause family planning will control the population explosion and reduce consumption along with the fact that reduced population growth will ensure proper availability of all the facilities..

Family planning is one way to solve economic crisis. As we can say that too much population could also mean poverty among the nation. :)

Family planning amoung couples? First I would start with the unwed mothers and quit padding their pockets with free money for each child they have....and then have another....and another....make them pay the way for the child and maybe there truly would be family planning.

Family planning is very important everywhere, but especially in areas of extreme poverty, as any aid worker will testify. Unfortunately there can be religious barriers. I understand it is against the rules in the Roman Catholic faith. Poverty is itself a barrier because of the need to buy contraception.

Family planning is not the way of solving economic recession...Take a look of some countries that have a more population like Japan,China, etc.,they did not implemented family planning but their country have a better economic standing...In my opinion,it depends on the government,of how they run the economy of the country....
