I just received a message that the daughter of one old man in US gave her father 2 morphine doses because of the wish of the father to die without experiencing pain. There is an approval of the nurse... Well he did not die... he was just overdosed because of drinking alocohol while on medication (that can be fatal)... But is it really legal in US?

From experience of when my mother was dying, yes they give you as much morphine as you want. The idea is not to kill the person but to assure they are comfortable. In hospice my mother was still cared for, fed, given her insulin, etc. One thing I found silly was that they gave her sugar free cough drops. Like what's the difference if she's going to die anyway? There were just no measures beyond that to extend her life.

I just got a call... he just passed away... i think he just wanted to die... he's not fighting anymore... i don't think he's feeling a lot of pain. he just want to run away from his problems...

i agree... but if ever it is legal in other countries they will not be imprisoned for doing that. i am also not in the position to judge them...
