Hey y'all I get migraines pretty frequently to the point that I vomit and an sick in bed for up to 3 days, I have taken Imitrex, and other prescription meds, I am know on depokote, it does seem to help, but I hate takin' medication every day, does any one know of any other way to help with headaches I am very open minded and will not think any suggestion is crazy, at this point I am willing to try most anything.

please don't think im trying to scare you in any way, but my young cousin began to have this same problem 9 years ago, with frequent, severe migrane headaches, vomiting, dizzyness, etc. my aunt and uncle had to be very persistent with the doctor b/c they didn't want to just accept that they were simply migraine headaches, not much you can do but take meds. and they were right, after visiting with several different doctors it was discovered that my cousin had a tumor on his brain. the headaches and vomiting were being caused by the swelling in his brain. please be very persistent with your doctor. in this day and age, it seems like doctors dont think we know when something is wrong with us, but your body tells you when something isn't right. and if your doctor isn't trying to get to the root of the problem and just wants to keep trying new meds, find a new one. good luck

np, just make sure you keep on them about it. sometimes i feel like the doctors dont work as hard at finding out what's wrong with you as they should. it feels like they only do more to get you to "go away". not that all of them are like that, but it's just how some have made me feel, like i have to really be a pain in the a@# just to make them look for the root of a problem instead of just giving out meds

well I am taking the dapokote as a preventive ( although it doesnt cure acute migraines) and he has givin' me something for the pain when I do get one and its some good stuff but it knocks you out which I like, that way I can go to sleep, usually after I get really good sleep, they will ease up for me, I will get the name of it and let you know and maybe you can ask your Dr. about it

I get some pretty bad migraines as too , but the meds the dr has me on is called Topamax. It is an anti-seizure medication, but taken like they suggest it really has helped me . I was for awhile having one of the killer migraines at least once a week that sometimes lasted for days.Topamax is expensive but it has helped me tremendously. I might have a headache once in awhile but nothing like i use to have.

yea my doc tried to give me that depokote stuff too , but even after i tell him over and over that i cant take anti depressants he wont listen ,( im weird my body has the opposite effct from those meds ) the only thing i can say about avioding them is try to avoid the main factors or triggers like stress ( wich is hard ) but also i know a main trigger for me is suger substitute , all of them will trigger a migrain at least even splenda , im so allergic to the aspartame in sweetn low that if i take even 1 sip of any drink made with it i will be sick for days , somithing to think about ..... hope this helps ! ~M~
