Yesterday the president said that Rumsfeld had helped topple two terrorist regimes. Which are they I know only Afghanistan. Iraq was about Weapons of Mass Destruction not terrorism.

I am not sure what he was talking about but perhaps he did mean Iraq as the second one. I am surprised that the journalists didn't question him more carefully about this one. :)

I'm not sure which two he was talking about either. He might have been trying to speak well of the man to make him feel better.

Who knows what they are saying these days on tv to smooth things over. I'm glad Rumsfield took a walk but it should have been sooner. I can barely listen to those speeches

Actually Saddam was supporting terrorism and with that, one could get the idea that he was hiding weapons and since terrorists use weapons and the more destructive the better, it is only natural for the President to have assumed that there were weapons of mass destruction hidden all over Iraq. As for Rumsfeld, he has experience and has been around so he knows what to do. The fact, that some people do not like Bush is immaterial. Oh do you wish that Saddam Hussein is still in power?

That's true.. I guess the concern was the getting of wmd's to terrorists.. or maybe because Saddam terrorized his people..

He was probably talking about Iraq. Was Rumsfeld around for the Kosovo conflict? I can't remember.

Because of the civil atrocities, I think that he was referring to Iraq. WMD just gave him a reason to go in and with that, to stop what really does amount to terrorist acts upon his own country.
