Alright, I know this is disgusting, but seriously, I haven't taken a shower for 5 freaking days!! Alright, before you judge me for being stinky, that time I was confined in the hospital for about 6 days because of Dengue (mosquito bite). How can a small thing can actually do big bad thing to people huh? I don't even remember bitten by a mosquito. I was in 2nd year college back then. So, I was not allowed to get wet that much for some reason, even I felt how terrible my hair was! Talking about the day, it was so terrible! I always had bad temper at that time and so difficult. I want a quick shower, but they won't allow me! Argh!! So after checking out the hospital, the first I did when I got home was to take a good warm bath! A serious long bath! I am enjoying every moment of it! And tell me, it was the best bath ever! You ever felt that too?

I am lucky if I get a shower at least once a week. Between housework and chasing a one year old by the time i get her to bed i am tired and normally just fall asleep. So don't worry i am not judging you so don't judge me I do at least try to wash my hair in the sink quickly. Or wash with a warm washcloth so that I can at least smell clean.

I think that I had not showered for two days one time and I felt horrible, yucky and disgusting. I was pinned between and atv and a tree and I wasn't able to move very much and I was on massive pain killers and slept most of the time..

That is awful isn't it!
The longest I went without a shower was 2 1/2 weeks. It was when I was in southern Iraq for Desert Storm. We took "bird baths" as best we could, but it's nowhere close to the same.
When I finally had the chance to take a shower, it was an outdoor shower in 50 degrees.. it was the best shower of my life! :~D

Oh Gosh. I don't even know. For a couple years we were without running water...and washing out of a pale is unpleasant...especially in the winter.
I used to go weeks without washing and used heavy deoderant sprays, heh.
Awful, yes. Especially when you're a teenager with long hair, xD

The longest I haven't taken shower is for three days when I was stranded on an adventurous trekking I and my six friends had taken. We had gone to a nerby well known hiking place and to our utter dismay lost ourselves in the forest area of the base while returning. Well, first of all we were returning from the 7 hour long trek and were tired, so no one really saw that we were lost until it was dinner time and we havent reached the base lodge till then. At that time we all came to know of our mistake and we sat down like lost animals. (lol)
For next three days we scoured the jungle in every area we could go and finally got a break on third day's evening when the rescue party crossed our path!.
For three days we had lived on fruits and luckily we had enough water to drink only. So we had lived for three days without brushing our teeth and bathing!

The longest time for me haven't taken a bath/shower was 1 week. That time, i gave birth my baby and i had my c/s and i confined at the hospital for one week. I know my hair smells stinks, my parents just wiped my body with warm wet clothe.
But after 1 week my hair is so greasy and i really badly needed a shower and lots of shampoo and scrubbing.
Happy posting.

I haven't taken a shower for a week.. I was confined in the hospital due to some reason, chicken pox? aww sorry, i can't really remember the exact reason because it happened wayback in my kindergarten years.. it was awful! yay! oh, it's going to happen again.. my doctor advised me to stay in the hospital for days until my blood sugar level goes down.. i'm pretty scared about the thought of staying there and not knowing what's going to happen next.. please pray for me.. thanks!

hello smooch
i am so very sorry to hear that you got bit by a dang mosquito like that and it put you in the hospital. and that is about the only time that i do not have a shower on a daily basis if i am in the hospital like that as well. eight years ago, i had surgery and stayed in the hospital for about a week afterwards and i hear ya about getting home and taking a bath. i did the same thing. i think that i took a bath then used the shower also. lol
take care and have a beautiful evening. hope that you get to feeling better.

Once when i had a hernia operation and i had sticks on my stomach, and doctor told me not to take a bath for atleast 10 days. I hated me during those days, i was completely on bed rest had nothing to do, so i was not dirty but still i wanted to take a bath. That was my record for not taking a bath. My hair needs shampoo everyday, but during those days they were horrible. Still after 10 days doctor were telling me not to take bath for few more days then i went home and covered the part where i had stches and then took a good shower.
It was good to hear that you recovered from the sickness. Hope you have a healthy life ahead.

I'm like you, I've gone 5 (maybe 6 if you count the day of the surgery itself) days without showering due to hospital stay. I was released from the hospital earlier than the 6th day, but I had really invasive leg surgery and wasn't allowed to really move for at least the first week, let alone try to get in and out of a tub! I was pretty out of it the whole time though, so I don't really remember the feeling of being unclean for that long! Showers after that, though, weren't very good for a few months, since I still couldn't stand and I had to keep my whole leg from getting wet, so it took a lot of work and energy. That's a feeling I sure do not miss, and I definitely enjoy showing now that I'm recovered, more than ever!

Well the longest time i did not take bath was 12 days because i had to stay at hospital after my c-section operation.I felt very bad and smelly during that period but nurses used to sponge me really well and change my dress. When i came back home i took shower and felt relieved.I think this is the worst part of an operation .

smooch091784,
Dengue fever is a very dangerous illness and patients are required to be confined to the sick bed and not allowed to be moved or moving around. I did not know the seriousness until I was inflicted with it and on my business trip. I remember bleeding from the nose without any rhyme or reason. The fever just doesn't seem to subside. I did not know the gravity of the situation till I was warded and the consultant actually came to reveal just how luck I was.
As for the shower part, it would be 14 days 21 hours, when I was engaged in boot camp training - hell day. Our team was constantly on the move, harassed and pressed to achieve and reach our next objective. We just use talc powder to powder down when we had our rest time to keep ourselves clean. It was really quite an experience.
When we finally get to have our real shower, we were really exhilarated and the feeling is one which is beyond wonderful. Yes, it was the best bath ever.
Have a nice day.

I have had to do that before. It was a little longer than 5 days, I think. It seemed like an eternity. I am one of those people that has to take a shower every day in the summer and every other day in the winter or I feel disgusting. This happened when me and my husband first moved into the house that we live in now. We had some problems with getting the hot water to work, so we couldn't take showers for about a week. It was not fun. That first shower after that was the best ever.

Well I guess the longest I have ever gone was like three days and that was bad. I was not sick but my water was not working and they were fixing my bathtub which is starting to leak again. I hope it stops because this has been a real problem where I live at I am not sure what it is but they already fixed it once and I am not sure why that did not take. Anyway this is a different kinda of discussion good luck to you and happy mylotting as always! :)

good to hear that you recovered. :)
my record was 14 long days. i was helpless. this was when i was down with chicken pox. i was told not to have bath. but after 12th day i was told that i can take bath but my condition was too bad to get up from the bed. every point in my body was aching with the blisters and at the same time itching . i saw hell at that time :( . but i somehow managed to get up on the 14th day when i was almost recovering, and i had a very good bath in warm water.
