I have never taken a prescribed medication. I haven't had a medical checkup for 30 years. I believe in good nutrition, good exercise, good life style, and no medications. I do yoga for 45 minutes every day. I read food labels, if there are preservatives added I don't buy. I stay away from the medical establishment, because their job is to find health problems, and they are good at it. I'm a senior male 75 years old and still working. Most medications have side effects which can be as bad or worse than the disease. I would expect that more people die from the medications than from the disease.

I agree with you about the medications after my bad withdrawal symptoms of my meds. But I do keep some by my side when there is nowhere for me to go. I've started to check my nutrition and include more regular exercise in my life and things are slowly but progressing. Thanks for the post.

I was on Paxil for several years and I didn't have any symptoms going on the meds or any symptoms coming off of them either. The only issues I had were on Lexapro. Lexapro made me so sick I couldn't stand taking them so I quit taking medications and haven't taken any in several years.

I currently take Buspar/Buspirone for long-term anxiety relief and Xanax for when I need immediate relief. If I've already taken my daily doses of each and still feel anxious hours later, I will sometimes take St. John's Wort. So far, these have worked fine for me.

I've taken so called anti anxiety medications and suffered even worse panic attacks. The best thing I found was to go to a hypnotist as that was what finally broke it.
Another good thing to try is to learn a martial art as then your confidence grows and you no longer feel vulnerable, which is a major cause of anxiety and panic attacks.

Well for depression, medicines are not solution. Do Meditation, try breathing exercise, it will help you balance and handle anxiety.

I have been taking Prozac and xanax for the past 4-5 months. Before I took Citalopram and xanax and did much better. I have more of a problem with anxiety then I do depression, but I get depressed because of the anxiety...go figure! I think my other combination of medications worked better because it was less stressful time. Now, money is very tight...if there is any money at all. I try not to get stressed about financial things but lately it has gotten a little overwhelming. But for the most part what I am taking now does work and I am thankful for that.
